Tweeti love all those old haloween and fri the 13th and freddy movies
TweetI rented it yesterday. We haven't watched it yet. I just started to rip it and figured I'd preview a little of it. Jeezeloufukinweeze!! I just had to switch screens because my daughter walked in the den. Mike Myers just GREW UP! That's a big mutha fugga! Anyway, I feel like I just stopped in the middle of a badass roller coaster. This Halloween is the shyt so far. Rob Zombie's horror skills are impressive.

Tweetthough I absolutely loved Devils Rejects I wasnt too into Zombie's Halloween, he hyped it up saying how much he hated all of these remakes that dont do anything new with the material, but after the half way point when he finishes the new introduction to the character, the movie is almost a scene for scene remake of the original.
I liked the movie for its brutality and I did like the build up in the beginning, but I felt the sets were too cluttered and dark in the end and the cuts were shaky and rough, making the movie really difficult to watch. Basically what it came down to for me is if the original Halloween was never made, I dont feel that this version would have become the classic that the original became, it would just be looked over as another average slasher flick.
I still back Zombie 100%, he is one of the better directors that have surfaced recently in the genre, but I didnt feel this movie was nearly as strong as Devils Rejects
Tweeti dont really watch shyt like that...i like the comedy's or action flicks!
HE WHO MAKES A BEAST OF HIMSELF, GET'S RID OF THE PAIN OF BEING A MAN!!

I LOVE BOOBOOKITTY...
TweetIt definitely fell off a little after he grew up and went home. The beginning is badass though! I never saw Devil's Rejects. I hear it's kickass from my movie critic friend...(he's right on the money 95% of the time, and he sees every movie.) Anyway, he was telling me about it and I'm thinking it might be one that I'll pass on.
TweetI was the same way for 15 years. I got where I didn't like that shyt. I don't like pure gore, and horror movies just didn't do it for me. I have always been a comedy and action guy myself. That being said, After I caught House of Wax and the beginning of Devil's Rejects, I figured I'd give horrors another go. At least Rob Zombie's flicks. His shyt is on point. But like I said in the post above. I can't go so far as some shyt though. From the first glimpse of Devil's Rejects and my friends description, and knowing Zombie's skills now, I don't think I would dig it. The title sums it up. Gotta be some sick fuks to win that title. What makes Rob Zombie flicks so wild is his style. He captures people and settings perfect. The casting is perfect. It makes the shyt seem like something that's going on. He took that cheesiness out of horror, and added a reality to it that's perfection. I had to remind myself that it was just a movie in the beginning of Halloween. It's that fuked up. If I let myself slip into it like I get into action or something, it would be too much.
But I tell ya what. House of Wax is a pretty easy one. You oughta give it a try, just to get a look at Rob Zombie's work. It's pretty badass.
Tweetyou gotta get in on that action, Devils Rejects is amazing, people have dubbed it "Gore-no" stating that the new gore films are no better tha porno, but the story and character development in the film are far superior to any recent horror flicks. Zombie is able to take despisable characters and make them empathetic, and take a righteous cop and demonize him. Through in an awesome soundtrack, scenes that even make the most die hard horror fan feel uncomfortable, and over the top humor and you have one of the most amazing horror flicks in the last 10-20 years with a vintage 70s feel to it. you can probably buy the dvd on half.com for a couple bucks, i guarantee you will enjoy it if you liked Halloween!
Tweetyeah, that's totally bass-ackwards. Horror used to be "goreno". Zombie's flicks are really good shyt. He raised the bar way up with horror. And like you said, his soundtracks kickass. I might have to take a deep breath and give Devil's Rejects a shot.
Tweeti cant help but sneak this in but I got to meet Rob and Sheri Moon Zombie as well as almost the entire cast of Devils Rejects at the horror convention three years ago, hes actually one of the most down to earth people ive ever met and very dedicated to the genre, so that didnt hurt his reputation in my eyes
TweetThat must have been pretty cool. I've seen him just being him on tv and he is a really cool, low key, chillin kinda guy. He is dedicated to that horror shyt. He lives for it.
TweetI saw it when it first came out in the theaters. Halloween is one of the best horror movies to date and even though I liked Rob Zombie's Halloween and his re-make I would still prefer the John's Carpenders original Halloween in 1978. The original movie is based on suspense and it's not gore at all, this remake shows a lot of swearing and some comedic stuff. I'd give it 6 out of 10.
