  • computer issue (huge text)...

Maybe somebody can help me out. My last computer did this...When I go to certain websites that lists things, like Google for instance, the text is huge. It's only on certain sites. It just started doing it a couple days ago. My last desktop used to do it after I would dowload a bunch of music. I could just restart it and it would usually fix it. I don't know what caused it this time. This computer has never done it before, but it seemed to just start out of the blue. I didn't do anything abnormal, nor have I dowloaded any music files or anything.
Does anyone know why it's doing that. It's annoying. The text is huge on some sites.

nevermind...all fixed. I just restored it to a week ago and that did it.
It says that a security setting is off now though. I wonder if that lousy McAfee is the culprit.

oh yeah, it's a beautiful thing.
I'm glad to see that it's still all set this morning. This computer has been the best desktop I've ever had.

Try Acronis for Restores. Copies an exact image of your hard drive or partition and restores it exactly as it was on last backup. Used it for years. The best IMO.

Yeah - System Restore is great, but there is a downside - it can also back up infections, as it did for T-Man in this thread - so if you pick up a virus, worm, or Trojan Horse, you need to turn it off before trying to remove the infection.

yeah, I just back up everything if I can and wipe the hard drive clean and reload the drivers if something like that happens...good as new...better than new actually.

It's cool if you can get it without deleting everything but I like to do that once a year anyway.

If you get an infection backed up by System Restore, or in the System Restore folders, as what happened in that case, simply turn off System Restore, then turn it back on - simple fix. Turning off System Restore will delete the entire contents of those folders - that is the only way to delete an infection in those folders without wiping your entire drive - a painstaking process - I've been through it quite a few times. Windows won't let any outside programs, not even anti-virus programs, access the System Restore folders.

Another way is to use a boot disk and delete the window backup folders on all drives.
