Blood work at the doctor

TweetHey guys... tomorrow I'm going to the doctor because of a chronic cough I've had for a very long time. It hasn't been that big of a deal until recently. Sometimes I'll cough for a few minutes, usually just a dry cough, but latey it's gotten worse. I went to the doctor the other day to get it looked at because my mom thinks something is terribly wrong. He put a scope down my nose and said that he couldn't tell what was wrong so he sent me to get x-rays of my chest. Well the x-rays came back and they said nothing was wrong with my lungs. Anyways, he's sending me to the doctor tomorrow morning who is supposed to specialize in asthma and allergies. I know for certain it's not asthma, so I don't know exactly what he's going to do. My question is what will happen if they want to do blood work on me. Will the steroids show up at all. I'm taking d-bol and test prop. Also, I chose not to tell the last doctor about the steroids because I figure he'll just jump to the conclusion that the steroids are causing the cough, but I've had this cough before I started steroids. So first of all, should I worry about blood work, and second, is it a bad idea to mention the steroids to the doctor. I just don't want the doctor saying anything to my mom about them or anything. Supposedly they're not allowed to, but I know my mom is good friends with this doctor and has known him a long time. Also I don't know if by being on my dad's insurance if he has a right to any information about my blood work and such. Does anyone know the answers to these questions? Thanks for any help you can give. I kinda want to have a clue before I go in there tomorrow morning.

TweetIf you are over 18, its called doctor /patient confidentiality...he cant say shit...he wont even know what you are talking about most likely even if you did tell him what you were on.

The blood work will only show what its tested for, and they arent testing for gear

TweetThey will not be able to tell if you do AAS with a blood panel... unless they are looking for elevated levels of test...which they shouldn't be for a coughing problem. You may have elevated liver values because of your AAS, but many things can cause that. As for your doctor saying anything to your parents, I think that is doubtful, unless you are a minor.

if it's that bad, i'd stop the test since obviously 1050 mg/wk of test is partly to blame since that's when you got sick, and doubling up on 300 mg/day at times has something to do with it.

TweetYeah, I only had to double up once though, and the cough has been around long before the test though. It might be aggravating it a bit, but I think there's go to be something he can give me to get rid of it regardless of the steroid use. I might be wrong, who knows. So if it goes on my permanent record, I'm definitely not telling him. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

Tweeti would not tell him because its irrelavent. i only told mine cause i was getting check out because i use AS, plus i trust my doctor to not put it in my file, but if you have a doctor that does everything by the book then CJ is right it COULD come back to haunt ya when you apply for life or health insurance

There are a lot of reasons why a person could have elevated liver enzymes. If I drink enough protein shake and exercise and then get bloodwork done, the test will almost always indicate elevated liver enzyme levels. My doctor freaks out everytime I do this.
Bilirubin and creatinine levels are better indicators of liver injury.

Tweetmake the doctors earn their money and find out what is wrong. I agree about not telling about AS cuz it will follow you all your life and could deny you something that you might need later. Just my .02 .
