So my wife and I went to the beach with my brother, my brother's gf, my brother-in-law and his gf. I explained to my wife and the rest of the ladies that the guys had an early tee time Sat. so we needed to keep it kind of low key Fri. night then on Sat. night we will do whatever they wanted (go dancing). They were cool with that.

At 12:30 my brother and I tell the ladies that we were heading off to bed. They were at the hotel bar having some drinks so they said they would be up in a little while. With that I went off to bed.

I wake up a 3am and my wife is no where to be found. I went down to the bar, shes not there. I went out onto the beach she is not there. My brother's gf is not there either. So of course we start calling their cell phones which go directly to voice mail. At 3:45 I finally get in touch with her....she's at the strip club with my brother's gf. Now that I know she is safe I imediately turn from being worried to being pissed.

I didn't talk to her when she got home just because i was so mad and just wanted to sleep instead of deal with the drama. So she calls me on the golf course acting like nothing is wrong. At that time I blew up and told her how inconsiderate I felt that was. I was not so nice in saying that though.

This is the kicker, she tries to turn the spit around like it is my fault she didn't tell me where she was going. She thinks that I would have not wanted her to go which is exactly right. I don't go to strip clubs out of respect to her. The least I could get is the same curtesy.

If the shoe was on the other foot and I left when she went to bed to go to "Peter's Hangout" how would that go over?

Am I way off base here? Should I not be pissed? Let me add one more thing. This is not an isolated incident. She has in the past told me she was going to be home at 12 and not shown up until 3. When she drinks she is all about getting wasted and has not consideration for other most importantly her husband.

So I ask again....Am I the A$$hole?

TweetIn that situation I'd be pissed too. My ole lady digs goin to titty bars, not that we ever have time to do that these days but... If she doesn't want you goin out to places like that, then she shouldn't either. Not to mention she already knew you wouldn't approve and went ahead anyway, so yeah I'd be pissed.

I'm with badasz on this one - I could care less if she goes to the strip club or stays out all night with the girls or guys, etc, etc but at least have the decency to let me know you'll be gone all night.
If I wake up at 3am and she's not there I would have been pissed.

But if she told me she was going to be out all night - then I would be OK with that.
the answering the cell phone thing is a whole separate matter.

I don't think there is much use in them (no need to call if she would have simply told you she was going to be out all night and getting breakfast with the girls, etc.) but if you're going to have one then damnit answer the frickin thing when I call.
