      Re: Hyaluronic Acid

There has been quite a bit of research done on HA. They have found it beneficial when injected into the knee for OA. The study stated: intraarticular injection of hyaluronic acid can decrease symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee. However, remember this is when injected, therefore, not being hydrolyzed within the stomach.

They thought it may be beneficial for exercised induced asthma when inhaled however not quite the case. Be careful of label claims, they usually lack research when it comes to natural products. Not to say they do not do what they say, its just used for marketing, usually.

Most of the research out there currently looks at the biochemical role of HA with in the body. Not at the interactions when taken exogenously (tablet, pill, ect).

      Hope that helps a little.

        Re: Hyaluronic Acid

Just after I wrote that I was looking on a website making claims about HA. Here is what the disclaimer said:
        1. In publishing this Web site, the owner makes no representations concerning the efficacy, appropriateness or suitability of any products or treatments. Use this site at your own risk. The authors of the material in this Web site, are not doctors and have no medical background or training.

I then proceeded to look further and found that they were in fact selling related items on their site. Hmmm.... Seems fishy.

Always proceed into claims with skepticism.

P.S. Hyaluronic acid taken orally is usually degraded by stomach acid and if not it is very effectively removed by the liver and kidneys. One type they say is not is Synthovial 7 but its still just plain old HA! So much b.s.
