Pretty cool if you ask me. I was thouroughly surprised and impressed when I saw the U.S. allows this in our country. I figured with how conservative this country is it would have been outlawed immediately for sure. I guess there is hope for this country after all!
Can you imagine if you could make your kid come out disease free with no genetic failures, and with genetics to ensure he's tall & naturally built! I know what many would say but I would have loved if my parents would have had me been engineered to be muscular. I bet many of you would have loved it too, otherwise you wouldn't take stuff to become more muscular. Imagine that strength and size coming naturally!
Well.......almost naturally!
Tweetwhoops...there goes dj's hope for this country!!! lol
i'm out...i'll take my kids the old fashioned way....just a mixture of me and my girl and however it gets put together is fine by me! i wouldnt want my kids anyother way!

I LOVE BOOBOOKITTY...
Tweeti read it thismorning and meant to post it up for discussion. it is amazing.
the prob is without genetic defects and a genetically strong constitution it would create a sub class of people built the old fashion way
like in gattica
TweetHAHAHAHAHA! Beotch!
TweetHey maybe we can create a new breed of women that have three boobs like in the movie Total Recall!
Tweetthen we need three arms and hands
because I am not grabbing north and south while sucking Central
three doodoo is back! Hide your women!
TweetWell, I seriously doubt they can go but so far. If you took too skinny people who have two sets of skinny parents, where is the muscular genetics going to come from? The code to have a lot of muscle must already be in the DNA or it must be added to the DNA, which is a bad idea. People don't need to go adding things to DNA, it's going to have consequences that can't even phathom. People playing God is a bad thing. But, with that said, if it can help those who think they are too good for a deformed child to have to raise that child then whatever. I think God gives you what He wants you to have. God will always have His way, that's a fact. I don't know what this type of idea could bring but I'm sure they will take it too far and create something they shouldn't have and all hell will break loosed between scientisits, humanists and conservatives. You can't just go around screwing with genetics because a group of people in lab coats want to see what happens. What if something goes wrong and the child ends up deformed anyways, what, just kill it? No thanks, I'll do it the way it was meant to be done.
Tweetim completely against this kind of stuff..were born the way we are for a reason.

TweetGenetic engineering on humans is trying to play GOD.
This type of thing should be left alone and left in the hands of GOD.
Suppose this does come to fruition? What will happen the normal birthed population? Will the new geneticallay engineered humans deem you imperfect and sentence you to die because you do not fit the "new life order"?
Will they not want you around because you can contract a fatal disease or have a disability? Opens up a whole new world for genocide of a species.
Push it, Pull it, Rack it. Repeat untill wide!!
Take nothing I say as serious, What do I know, I sell water!!

TweetI would definitely opt for genetic tweaking to have a child that is disease resistant and strong. Having said that, look at how long it takes for science to get just about anything right. There are bound to be mistakes, bumps in the road, unintended consequences, etc. It is not an exact science, so to speak.
With that in mind, I would pass until they get it right - but I doubt we will be asked to make a choice like this - more likely it will be our children or grandchildren. But I do think it will happen eventually. We will probably legislate it outside of the law, but when other "less moral" countires begin to experiment in genetic alteration, we will face being left behind - and below the rest of the world. Give the choice, I am pretty confident in the direction America will choose, in spite of morals or religion.
The consequences are scary though, to be sure.
Tweetthe Theological debate rages on! i agree. why play God but what about invitro fertilization isnt that the same thing? i am sure it wasnt in God's plan for a sperm and an egg to be removed from their host (somtimes it isnt even the Mother's or Dad's egg or sperm!) placed in a sterile bowl, fertilized then put into the "host" mother. If God didnt want you to have a child he would have made the pair that wishes to conceive able to do so...........right?
anyway it is a debate with many facetts and an interesting one on top of that
