TweetSPARTICUS
Tweetjust saw this movie today..thought it was awesome, eventhough it was only loosely based on what really happened, you get the idea of how badass the spartans were. I believe it was the same director as Sin City, so it had similar special effects..Anyone else see it yet?

I LOVE BOOBOOKITTY...
TweetYeah, I watched a two hour documentary on it the other night. They do overstate it but those guys were bad ass. In the final stand there were actually the 300 Spartans and 900 other Greeks when they finally got taken out. But the amazind part was the two days before, those 300 Spartans were on the front line and killed something like 20,000 of the Persians. They knew they were out numbered so they lined up to fight on a very narrow ledge, this limited the Persians from using their numbers. They could only send some many guys at a time and the Spartans just man handled them. It was brutal. But, if you actually see the whole story (which I don't know what the movie tells you) but they were in fact bad azz mofos. They were very diciplined and precise with everything. It wasn't until the Persians were able to get another 10,000 troops to flank their rear that they had to divide their forces. That's the only thing that cose them the battle. If Persia would have been stopped from flanking their rear, I bet they would have eventually finished off most of the Persians. Even the Naval battle was 800 Persian ships versus 200 Greek ships the Greeks were kicking their azz at sea too. Those were some bad dudes for sure. The documentary tells that boys are sent off at the age of 7 or 8 to begin training to become Spartan warriors and if they make it, the mother sends them off at 18 to fight. That's 10 years of training before they ever fight. No wonder they were so bad azz.
Tweetlooks like the Imax is gonna be cool on this one.
TweetI've always wondered which empire would dominate based on military tactics, the Roman, Greek or Persian?......They should do a show on that on the history channel that would be cool
Tweetive heard nothing but good stuff about it!
If bigger is better then im better than ever !

and thats being conservative..ive read it was between 20,000 and 100,000..they were born to fight and alot of the persians were just slaves and regular people, so it makes sense that they could beat that many.
