TweetI put em in a protein shake raw. The chances getting of salmonela are actually very very low.
TweetI know this thread needs to be in the nutrition section but since most of u phuckers are here.. in general section I will post this ? here..
Its about eggs and egg whites.. Since I'm gettin tired of cookin egg whites on a pan.. I was wondering if I can boil like 10 eggs.. and just eat 8 egg whites and two whole eggs..so in reality its 10 egg whites with two boiled yolks..
So with all this I was wondering if bolied egg whites lose their protein quality.. or not..?
Its much easier eating them boiled then.. the old fashioned way.
TweetI put em in a protein shake raw. The chances getting of salmonela are actually very very low.
Tweetnot sure i would agree with this just because the body can only take so much protein at one sitting ... hint the reason you see that most if not all protein shake is around 52 to 70 somthing grams of protein
boil your eggs and take two a little early so there are actually soft boiled that way you when you mis it all up you got some flavor there and it will taste a little better
TweetIt's not like vegetables where the nutrients leak out into the water, the eggs are intact, so all the protein is still there. And, yes, that's what I would do. You can get a huge sauce pot and boil 24 of them bad boys at once and then have egss for a couple days. Or boil 30 at once, just keep the unccoked ones in the fridge. Remember Easter time, when your parents would keep the eggs in the fridge and you would eat those things over the next couple days? They will be fine.
TweetI hate to tell you, but you aren't getting any of the protein that way. I read a study a long time ago and it stated that the human body can not digest raw eggs. Sure, they will pass through, but you won't absorb any of the protein from it. I'll try and find it for you, it goes into the microbiology of why eggs have to be cooked before humans can absorb them.
TweetI think that applies more to whey protein as it absorbs much faster than any other type. regardless you should spread protein intake out as far as practical.
TweetI eat the whole egg, the yolks are nearly as bad for you as most proclaim. Lots of vitamins in there.
T-Mann I would like to see this study also, Another board I frequent most everyone is downing lots of raw eggs.
Tweet007 they will absorb thru the digestive tract. I promise, lol! Yeah, maybe if you just chug them down without blending, but what i do is seperate the whites into the shake mixture then i blend on low for a while then high. then after shake is made it is pure liquid. Trust me it will absorb, and it is much easier then doing all that cooking. I just don't have time for all that. I know many bbers that do it that way and no probs gaining muscle from the protein. I have read that article tho you are talking about, it is hogwash imo, lol! And the chances of bacteria are like 1 in 3 million because they are sterilized in production.
TweetI've read that too Tman, it had to do with the heat, but a quick search and I couldn't find it....so I don't know
But.......
Try buying & drinking liquid egg whites as they are pasteurized (cooked). Back when I actually worked out I would mix the liquid egg whites with my whey
TweetSo a person can drink egg whites straight from the carton? I never knew that. lol...it will save me a lot of time from now on!
TweetThats exactly what i do.
Tweetill stick to the boiled eggs for now.. can i dip em in something..thats low in sodium and carbs..?

I'm right there with you on this one.
I have up to a dozen raw eggs a day while bulking anyway.
4 whole eggs raw per shake plus protein powder, 3X a day.
While dieting I cut back to 1-2 whole eggs and egg whites.
I've been using raw eggs for years now and love it.
It makes the shakes thicker and taste better.
