I have a dvd of my show that I want to copy and then try to isolate certain portions of but I can't seem to find anything in any program on my laptop to do this...think it's made to not be copied? is there a way to copy it if that's the case?

yes use afterdawns DVD SHRINK, should work perfect, then burn the copy off your pc onto dvd using regualr nero or w/e you have on your pc

any problems or questions let me know

this software will rip almost ANY dvd, i use it all the time.

EDIT: and it works perfect, it does all the bonus material and menu, chapters everything, perfect copy

you had what d/l'd? i thought you were copying a dvd you had....not that your downloading, heres what to do for a str8 copy

      1. pop in dvd
      2. open dvdshrink, click open disc
      3. click backup after its open
      4. pick a spot for the backup to go
      5. in that spot you will now have a bunch of files like .vob and stuff right
      5. open nero insert blank dvd
      6. in nero go to burn dvd video files
      7. click add in the video_ts folder all the files from the backup
      8. burn
      9. done.

if im not understanding what your trying to do please exlpain....

ok I just tried it that way and I got the same message I got last time which reads:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

      Failed to read file "E:\"

      Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

just try and clean it with like water or mild soap and a soft cloth, wipe from the inside to the outside, not in a circle....

      ok, I will try that...

and I tried the other dvd which, to the eye, has no scratches or imperfections on the back and it did the same thing...think it's my computer? I may be able to DL this and try it on my dad's comp tomorrow...it's really frustrating me...
