IOC may approve powerlifting

TweetUSAPL Technical Committee Chairman Robert Keller says that the IPF should receive word on their application for the provisional recognition of powerlifting by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in November. Provisional IOC recognition would mean the IPF would become part of the Association of Recognized International Sports Federations (ARISF). By becoming a member of the ARISF and thereby an International Federation (IF) the Olympic Charter allows National Olympic Committees to include national associations, like the USAPL, as members.

TweetPowerlifting is the squat bench and deadlift while olympic lifst are the clean and press etc... IMO, powerlifting is more about strength and olympic lifting is more about technique.
