This is the problem with any law that anyone chooses to bring in . the worry that somewhere the law will be used in a way that is unforseen at this time , or a creeping scenario whereby rights are stripped away piece by piece.

the problem is if you fail to act to protect yourself from threats for fear of what will be done with the tools you give yourself to do that job, you are effectively frozen.

I am not so naive to believe however that rights should be given up or powers
granted lightly , i have my doubts just as many do . I am not american but similar issues exist in all democratic societies.

it is worth remembering that steps taken to stop those events happening are futile in a sense as a future regime that is hell bent on evil or otherwise will probably find a way to do it anyway. they will not be concerned with the laws as they stand, they will ignore or change them as most regimes routinely do.

No offense bro, but it's very naive to not think your government is not corrupt. I don't think there is one politician out there that isn't corrupt. Almost every level of government is corrupt.....Judges, cops, fda, cia, fcc, fbi, nsa....You name it they are corrupt. It's not to say their aren't some honest people in our government, but they are very few and far between. Most of these people use their power for personal gain, and not for the interest of the people.

Laws are only as good as the people that enforce them. If they are corrupt then the laws are worthless!

There are many, many blind fools in this country that fall in line, and do and think what they're told to. They don't think for themselves, and they believe everything they hear. These are the people I categorize as those who "JUST DON'T GET IT". Anyone that doesn't understand what I mean by that is one of those people. Hence the fact they just don't get it. The problem is with so many of these people out there reproducing there is an influx of people with virtually no logic and no common sense. These are the people that allow our country to turn into the joke it has become. These are the people to blame.

So if we're going to make laws that infringe on peoples rights, then I think we need an IQ test that is mandatory. If you don't score above a certain score you are not allowed to reproduce. Simple as that. Then atleast a few generations from now when the morons fade out, this nation will be in line to again be powerful, and worth being patriotic over. But this is all just a pipe dream and will never come true. It's always nice to have hope though!

I agree that corruption exists, corruption is a loose term though and an innocent man can become corrupt I suppose. I dont believe all politicians are corrupt per se. i agree- changing times warrant new laws..but i think the constitution should always be protected and obeyed. Also this is not the only law that has been recently added that can possibly be abused..in the last ten years alot of new laws have been issued that can catorgorize the U.S as totalitarian..If your in England, you know exactly what im talking about..england is even closer to a police state then we are.

But if you read my post I said that there are a few honest people in our government, but they are very few and far between. Everything about our government is about corruption, and control. Their sole goal is to get as much control of the people as they can. Sure their are a few good politicians that try to do the right thing, but again they are a minority and unfortunately majority rules!

Again with the influx of those like minded individuals that "Don't get it" our government will always be run by morons with selfish goals and intentions. With these people our country will continue to destroy itself till eventually we to will have another civil war. There's only so much the people will take before they snap. Hopefully that doesn't happen anytime in my future, and hopefully our government will smarten up before that happens. But I'm pretty confident they won't do that!

An example of one thing that most of these people don't get is, simple things like history. They think just because something happens to someone else, doesn't mean it will happen to them. They don't get that history can repeat itself, and we need to learn from the past. I say to many people that if we don't change our ways quick we will fall just like the roman empire fell! These people think just because the Roman Empire fell doesn't mean the American empire will fall! I try to explain that the roman empire ruled for Hundreds and I think possibly even thousands of years. They don't get that we are a young superpower and have only been considered one for a short period of time. So it's not so hard to believe that we can topple like the romans!

These people that don't get it, never understand the logical side of things. They never analzye things properly, and they are very naive. They believe everything they hear, and are impossible to make see the light.

By influx do you mean physically i.e immigration or do you mean the new generation being indoctrinated. Wouldnt you say that the young are far more distrustful and untrusting of government than any demographic?

Agreed something to consider. if you ever read tragedy and hope by caroll quigley he is of the opinion that civilisations go through different phases ending inevitabaly in destruction , most of western civilisation is now in the latter stages in its present form. it is worth noting that although a civilisation may die its people live on in a different configuration and that the end is nessessary in order that a fresh new beginning with new hopes and ideals can be born. if you look at america and europe , america in particular resembles a modern day rome for sure.

By influx I'm referring to an influx of those that don't get it into society and government. Not by only immigration, but by birth. These people breed and create more of these like minded morons, which in turn makes them become a majority.

As for the young being far more distrustful, I would have to agree. But the young are not in power yet. Also it usually seems that the young that usually end up in power take over their daddy's jobs. Most politicians like Bush take over their fathers positions and usually think like thier fathers. That would continue the path we are currently on. In order for their to be true change we would need to get new people in office that aren't taking over a legacy. People that will do whatever they can to make america great again!

If gas prices continue to rise, property values stay up, prices of everything get higher, job wages don't rise, jobs shipped overseas, corruption in government, cops stereotyping, etc etc etc. All of this type of stuff drives people to the edge. Crime rises then because people become desperate and go into a state of mind where they do whatever it takes to survive...Ie. the fight or flight mode. With a rise in crime, there will be a rise in victims. (cause and effect) and with this people on both sides of the coin will get fed up and be up in arms over the countries current path.

Eventually people will rise up and overthrow their government to try and bring about change. This type of thing has happened to other countries in the past, and we are not an exception to the rule. Everyone thinks "Oh, no that won't happen we're America!". Classic arrogant American statement. Why do you think everyone else call Americans arrogant? Because most americans think that our country is invinsible! When this statement alone is what's making us such a target!

I definitely agree with that which is why I compared us to rome. Every empire falls and arrogance brings us to our demise much quicker than if we think outside the box without arrogance!
