Tweetfuzo i want a better life i have not been drinking a lot or even hardly at all my problem is when i do drink that i DO IT and don't stop thats my problem but thats why i was asking about the pill if i am taking it i would not be able to drink it would not allow it....thats why i was asking if you guys had any experiance?

Tweetyou guys remeber thats all i did was drink but i stoped that and got back in the gym and got things going good but its when i do drink its HEAVY!!!

TweetByron, get some help with that shiot. Fuzo is right, no matter how you word the problem it is what it is. Dump the alcohol and dont ever pick it up again, find another vice that is good for you to take its place.

TweetByRon, in your mind do you think you are not an alcoholic?, but even if you drink once a wk and you can not control it, you have a problem. I know for fact there are ppl that drink once in awhile, but everytime they drink they have to get drunk, but can stop on a dime, ive seen it. Both have the same prob though. You have to make up in your mind that you are going to stop cold turkey. Like said above, you put yourself in situations where drinking is involved. Does your gf drink?, do you have to go to parties because of her involvement with these photo jobs and events they have?, do you hang around ppl that drink everytime they go out? If you can control or not drink at these functions that is great, but i have a feeling you can't. Does your gf support you in this situation? I mean is she willing to not drink to help you? This is a major issue, because if she is involved in all these events that are revolved around clubs and places where drinking is all over the place, then perhaps you need to have a serious talk about it. Have you ever tried just ordering club soda and lime or some type of non-alcohol drink when going to these places, or you just cant do that? If you can't handle it, then you need to break away from this altogether. If you loose friends, gf, etc..then so be it. What matters is what is more important to you, your health and future, or have these ppl that are just supporting that way of life. It is up to you, and you are the only one who can stop it. If you have to do this by yourself, at least see a person that has substance abuse experience. Btw, yes anatabuse will work if you are ready to stop, but it is not a crutch. If you are not ready and start taking it, you will be sick all the time, and will build up a tolerance to it and continue to drink. Ive know ppl that have resorted to drinking mouthwash and rubbing alcohol, now that is def a problem.

Tweeti went throught the same thing...i'm a acholic. whole family is. we're functional drunks....that's just the way it is. i was drunk at least 8 days a week. i drank anything and everything i could get my hands on. i justified it becouse i have a stressful carreer...i needed a drink to wind down....i was just drinking socially....with friends, colleague's, family...the dog, whoever! one day i woke up and looked in the mirror....i was waaay over weight, and looked about 10years older than what i was. i said phuq this...that was about 3-4 years ago (i joined here about 6mo later). i've had 2 nights of drinking since. one of those night's (the last one) i got popped for dui. that really sealed it!!! dude...i just quit. that was it for me. i got too much to live for...i want to see my kids have kids (that'll fix them! lol)...you have to want to quit.
on the flip side, i got a friend who is impressed with the way i've changed. i've known him since i was 12. he was a friend of my brothers and i used to babysit his kids when i was young. he's a drunk also. for the last year he's been trying to quit...he say he just cant do it. last week he joined a/a....maybe thats the way to go. i dont know, i just know you gotta want it!

TweetI don't know if you would actually qualify as an alcoholic. I understand once you start drinking you can't stop. But you said you can go weeks without drinking, right? You may just have something like an OCD with alcohol. If it's there, you have to drink it all. I don't know. I'm a banker, not a psychologist.

TweetJUST STOP GOING OUT MAN. IF I DID IT, YOU CAN TOO. I HAD JUST AS MUCH OF A SOCIAL LIFE AS IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE, AND I JUST STOPPED GOING OUT. I SAVED MONEY AND LOST MY DOUBLE CHIN CUZ I WASN'T DRINKING SO MUCH.
