Hugo is a native of Ste-Anne-de-Portneuf, a small village in northern Quebec (Canada). At the young age of five, Hugo began his training. His father gave him a set of 2.5 lbs weights to develop his strength and his physique! Considered to be one of the strongest men in the world, Hugo is a police officer for the city of Gatineau in Quebec. He shares his life with his wife named Nadine Tremblay who is a continuous source of motivation.

He holds many Canadian powerlifting records (Bench Press, Squat) in the Super Heavyweights category. Hugo, a very determined athlete, trains 5 to 6 times a week in and out of the gym where he can practice the events for upcoming meets. Since 1998, he has participated in several competitions all around the world. Everywhere, he proved to be one of the top competitors, and this is due to his passion and incredible strength. It is for this reason that he is largely sought to do power demonstrations.

Hugo is also actively involved in the promotion of the sport as the president of the CFSA (Canadian Federation of Strength Athletes) as well as a competition organizer (Canadian Championship in Quebec and the Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Strongman Competition). His participation in the development of meets gives Hugo a great visibility which in turn incites spectators and athletes to bestow upon him the role of Canadian spokesperson for the sport.

Known to be a good orator and to have a good sense of humour, Hugo enjoys making presentations on the advantages of training and the necessity to stay away from drugs. He firmly thinks that to give a meaning to life, you need dreams. Hugo dreamed of participating in the World's Strongest Man competition, now he dreams of becoming the strongest man on the planet!
