TweetProbably raw.
TweetAll this time that I've been studying nutrition, but yet never realized something so simple.
On the nutrition facts label on raw meats, lets say hamburger meat, when it says Serv. size 4 oz, does it mean 4oz raw or 4oz cooked? I know i've read on some packages that it will state both, like on some raw oatmeal packages, where it says the serv. size raw and serv. size cooked. Thanx for your help.

TweetI kinda was leaning towards raw. For example, like i had stated hamburger meat, the package says 1lbs or 16oz, a total of 4 servings per pkg. Well, if you cook the entire package, it will not yeild to 16oz due to water/fat separation. Thanx for the quick reply.

TweetOh yeah then dude, its raw. They would'nt put the after cooked weight on there b/c it would look like the consumer is getting less.
