Tweetearly morning is best, but I work out with my wife and she is a bicth in the mornings........everytime I would drag her out of bed at 5am we would be pissed at each other by the time we got home.......just wasn't worth it
TweetI usually work out before i go to work in the mornings. I'm at the gym when it opens at 4:30AM. A good group of guys and gals. They are all there at that ungodly hour for one thing: to train plain and simple. This week due to being tired from work and unable to drag my ass out of bed on time i've had to go to the gym in the early afternoon. What a cluster****. I had to wait today to use the squat rack while this dipshit used it to do good mornings with two 5 pound plates on the bar. The powerrack was in use by this bozo doing curls, sloppy, sloppy curls. The other day i had to wait for a bench for chest. This dude was doing bench presses (i guess) with 135 pounds, 4 ten pound plates and a 5 on each side, starting off the liftoff and then the bar free-falling down and bouncing it off his chest and rebounding it up for each rep. I would have asked to work in with him but I'm sure we would have run out of ten pounders and room on the bar for me. Good God, i can't wait to get back to the early morning setting where i feel at home.

TweetYeah I go in the middle of the afternoons and on the weekends.......hardly anyone in there. I dont like to wait for equiptment but having a lot of people there motivates me. Probably b/c of the ladies......
TweetHahaha. Call it like you see it, I like that.Originally Posted by Slightly Enhanced
TweetI go in the evenings after work (6:00PM) Have learned how to move the "Wanna Be's" out of the way. I will ask politely if I may use a bench or piece of equipment they are "using" or if I may work in. I just load the crap out of the equipment to the weight I want to use. They usually move along because they don't want to unload or reload the equipment to what they are using.
Push it, Pull it, Rack it. Repeat untill wide!!

As for the friend part, I can never get any of my friends to work out with me. They'll only spot me. Bunch of Pooceee's are afraid I'll show them up...
TweetAt my gym its the benches that are always full. I usually just ask to work and use the weight they are struggling with for a rep or two to do a 20 rep warm up set with. Never fails they are always suddenly done. POOOOCESOriginally Posted by Waterboy

Tweetlol...I go in around 4:30pm. I get my workout done around 5:15 or 5:30pm before all those punks come in!!!
TweetEvery once and a while you will see a "pet peeves in the gym" thread pop up. I print those out and post them on the wall.
Ironman mag is good for articles that pretty much make fun of the same things we all gripe about and hate, articles like "screamers"....i put those up as well.
Its a funny way to convey a message without saying anything..
Plus, i put my squat racks/power racks back in the corner and put up as many pics of dudes moving insane weight and make it more of a "hardcore" area...it pretty much intimidates the people who want to bb curl 60lbs on the rack or the rif raf that wants to do 10lb good mornings. That area is filled with chains, wood blocks, chalk everywhere, old ass leather belts and any other items i can find to intimidate the wannabe's. Some people wont even look over there and i think my "real lifters" enjoy it pretty good lol
