My very first serious post ever! For a good cause.

TweetWow, what a monumental moment. A serious post from me, AOM. Geeze, OK, lemme start:
As some of you may or may not know, there was a little girl named Alexandria "Alex" Scott who dies of cancer at the young age of 8 years old. Alex was the creator of "Alex's Lemonade Stands" all throughout America. Alex was a local girl here from PA, and I have had the extreme good fortune and pleasure of meeting her on several occasions. The willingness and impact that this little 8 year old girl had on peoples lives is more than some people make in a lifetime. From June 9th to June 11th, it is National Lemonade Days for Alex. They are looking for 10,000 volunteers nationwide to hold lemonade stands to raise money for child cancer research. I am getting my whole bank involved. I am going to try and get every branch involved and have a stand. I would ask that if you can, you do the same. It's very easy, and is for a good cause. You buy the supplies yourself, then create a stand, and sell the lemonade. That's it! The cost could be anywhere from $100 to $200 with the lemonade, cups, ice, and a few 2x4's to build the stand. It doesn't have to be professional, just have fun with it. You can contact Alex's non profit from the websight below to get them to send you a 501-c3 (tax exempt) form. You don't need one, but some townships want to see it if you're selling the lemonade. Other than that, you don't really need the tax exempt form. I would recommend you contact your local municipality to see what they require. If you have any questions, call the number on Alex's websight. trust me, it's easy, you don't have to egt involved with the corporate crap, nothing. You just sell lemonade and send them the money. It's that easy!

TweetJUst saw a story on her on the national news. What she did was verytouching for someone fighting cancer as she was.
I make a large donation to the American Cancer Society each year in my mothers name. She died of cancer in 1993.
Will definately contact Alex's website about having a stand in our town.
