TweetPersonally i would make a call to the Dr who diagnosed and cut on you and ask him. I doubt many Orthopedic surgeons frequent the board to give u a qualified opinion.
TweetGreeting Friends,
A year ago I had surgery on my lower legs (shin area). I had (still have) chronic compartment syndrome. So the surgery sliced up the fascia so that fluid could move more easily into and out of the compartments of the lower extremity (calf area).
Since the surgery I have not been able to squat or lunge with out at least 20 mins of cardio and lots of stretching (and even sometimes this doesn’t work.) Oddly, leg press and leg ext don’t bother me.
Problem: After 1 or 2 sets one or both of my quads begin to feel as though I have pulled the muscles. Not just one muscle but every fiber in the quad. Then within an hour my quad will feel very sore. The feeling is comparable to waking up the next day and being sore after a good work out, delayed onset muscle soreness. However in my case the next day I will feel fine.
I am a squat lover and have never had any problems like this prior to the surgery. Not even if I walked in cold and started to squat.
Any ideas as to what my issue is?
Cheers & Thanks
S.E.

I agree and know that there are no Ortho docs here, however the surgery was below the knee and my issue is above, the only correlation is time. A doctor will have to make the final diagnosis, but I have learned that relying on a doc to diagose can be a mistake, plus I would like to believe that the two are not related and that I can fix this without the help of a Ortho
