How do you do it? I have not really had a good routine in . . . almost a year? My daughter was born 7 months ago, and I was evicted from my weight room (now the baby's room) a few months before that. I joined a gym, but I never really get a chance or have the energy to go during the week. I'm down to Saturdays and Sundays now, and that's if I don't have a list of things that need to be done.

I'm depressed about not being able to lift. I am still relatively big, but I feel like I am getting soft and slowly wasting away. What to do?

I have a 7month old also. My wife and I argued, and we came to an agreement. She wanted to get rid of her little teeny tiny baby weight she had. So she wanted to go walking. We agreed, that she would go walking on Mondays, wednesdays, and Thursdays for an hour after dinner. At that time, I would go to the gym. It take me about an hour and a half, but she doesn't mind. I come home, and I help her get the kids ready for bed. It works out because she does what she wants, and she doesn't mind taking the kids, and I go to the gym and get home in time to help her. There's gotta be a happy medium bro. If not, you and her are going to argue.

Oh man! Make your only goal right now, just make it to the gym. It will get easier as she gets older. I was working nights when I had my son. I would get off at 3:30a.m. and then wake up at 7:00 to take care of little one while mom went to work. They had a daycare at the gym, so I would take him there and come home and sleep while he did.

It's tough dude. That's a big part of why my weight fluctuates so damn much, lol! I try to balance time with wife and kids, work and training, and it ain't easy bruddah. Just try to sit down and manage your time as well as you can. I was talking to Dave Tate about this awhile back and like he told me, once you get on some type of schedule it gets easier, but never easy. You'll get back into it, just do what you can when you can and like I said time management is the key.

Part of the problem is that I have to commute 3-1/2 hours each day (total). I leave the house at 5:50am and get home at 7:00pm. I'm so tired during the week . . . excuses. I used to be able to work out when I got home, from 7:00-8:00, but with the baby its tough to find the time. Mom wants a break from the baby when I get home, you know.

Hopefully this will all change when we move at the end of the Summer. I'll live 15-20 minutes from work, rather than 1-1/2 hours. I'll have to hit it hard then. Until then, I gotta lift when I can. Thanks for the encouragement bros.

I've got a 6 month old....I share your same problems. It's hard to say, but always put family first....and even then you should be able to squeeze in 45mins-1hr. a few days during the week to lift. I know you probably feel drained but once you get back into the new routine you'll feel much better...I know I am.

It sucks man, I have 4 babies and one coming in the fall..I didn't go to the gym once for 2 years...so I don't have any advice, but make your wife but when he gets a few months older, join a gym with a daycare, it helps. But also my wife stopped working, so I can do whatever the hell I want to now.
