I've cut my drinking down to only the weekends now. This has shocked all of my friends b/c I run a bar and can drink what I want, when I want. Is it ok as long as I go to the gym 4-5 days a week, eat right and take the creatine Monday through Friday? Then on the weekends I still eat pretty well, drink on Friday and Saturday only and not take the creatine.

Depends on what are your goals? Are you serious about your health and fitness? How do you look currently? I can understand drinking if it's for a special occasion like a birthday or something but to drink just because it's around you doesn't make much sense to me. I don't think a shot or 2 will hurt but. But if you are drinking to get drunk then it's like taking 2 steps forward then 1 step back if you are going to make it part of your weekend diet?

trust me brother, i was quite the social butterfly there for a while. actually, i'd say i was a full blown alcoholic for well over a year. drinking by myself, getting tanked every single night, no matter the day. looking hungover at work every single day. it was bad. severley effected my training. i would be at work and couldn't wait until 4 o'clock so i could go home and sleep...wake up at about 9 or so, go out and drink and do it all over again.

now, just on the weekends, make your weekends friday and saturday. don't do what i did and say "well Thursday is Friday Eve, i'll drink. Friday is the start of the weekend, i have to drink. Saturday, thats a no brainer. Sunday, technically still the weekend, why not?" even then, if you must drink beer, stick to miller light. as much as it pains me to say that (i'm a budweiser, newcastle, smithwicks man myself) thats your best choice for carb intake. also, stay away from the damn wings while drinking homeboY! too much overindulgence at one time. also, don't just drink because you feel you have to. if you really going out one night with the boys or something, thats fine, but just because its friday or saturday and you're not doing a damn thing, don't think "hey, i'll get phucked up anyway." know wut i mean? trust me, if i can get over drinking all the time, you can too. there's been times recently when i would go to a buddies house with the intention of getting completely hammered and only end up having like 5 or 6 beers and going home. when a year ago i would have had a minimum of about 12 or 15. so just think about what you're doing and how it relates to your goals and your physique. be smart about it brother, you know whats right and whats wrong, and what you should or shouldn't be doing. use your head dummy

Crom, it depends on what you mean by "drink"? Are you meaning getting smashed or half way looped? If so, it can take the body well over a wk to recover. So in saying that, if you are getting tanked 2 days ew, you are screwing the progress you are trying to achieve during the wk. If a person has a prob with drinking (not saying you do) they would be better off being or working where there is no alcohol, and the atmosphere that provokes it, untill they can control their soberity.

Yeah Im just drinking on Fridays and Saturdays. Its just what there is to do around here. I recently moved here, its a smaller town, I get invited to go out and drink, so I do. Friday night wasnt that bad, I had a few Vodka/Sodas and like 4 Miller lites. Saturday night was kinda bad.....had some friends come in from out of town.......I had 3 double Chopin Vokda/Sodas, 3 jager bombs, shot of crown, and I dont even want to think about how many beers. I got pretty hammered. I had fun though. Head hurt this morning, I drank a shiat load of water and doubled my vitamins and milk thistle.

What about the creatine though? If I use creatine 5 days a week and take 2 days off and possibly drink those 2 days is it going to take the creatine out of my system? I heard someone say something about alcohol doing that before.

Oh yeah. I know I dont have a problem. I dont even think about drinking while Im at the bar. I dont like crave it or anything, you know? Also Im also a social drinker only, I would never sit at home and drink by myself, never.

      Thanks for the advice.

JMO, but i dont drink at all when im seriously training. Especially when on AAS or creatine. Such a stress on your liver and kidneys already, why give them something else to worry about filtering out? I've been seriously training now for 12 weeks and havn't had a DROP of alcohol whole time. It was kinda hard at first but i dont even think about it now, I think you get used to it quick.

Make sure you still take in lots of water, you don't want to dehydrate yourself with the alcohol and creatine both. Oh and don't drive lol
