TweetCould be the rotator cuff. Ice it down, get some massage or even better get ART done and see how it goes.
TweetI've developed some pain around my upet left pec..I don't know if it has something to do with the shoulder but mainly if I do upright rows and when I'm lowering the bar down I feel discomfort and pain also when doing shrugs.. I feel some pain.. it sticks with me for a few days then it goes away..
since I do upright rows on a shoulder day I concentrate and do them slowly..especially when lifting the bar up my neck but when I'm droping the bar down my midsection I feel the discomfort..here's the pic.. where the pain actually takes place..
Any idea what it might be..

TweetNo kidding... I'm having the very same problems as well. It all started when I began including upright rows into my workouts. Now my shoulder is shot. I get the same pain after doing heavy shrugs or deadlifts. I have a MRI scheduled for the middle of next month - I think my rotator cuff is hosed. Might require surgery???

Tweetthe funny thing is i dont feel pain when im lifting the bar only when droping..
TweetI have a hard time taking my shirt off because of the pain. It comes and goes - some days are more painful than others. I've had to cut all pressing over the head out of my routine along with upright rows. I'm stubborn so I'll continue to deadlift and do shrugs.Originally Posted by diggi

TweetWhen mine was all jacked up I had to keep my hand in my pocket when walking cause the swinging moting felt like a knife digging in. My deal was actually a bone spur gouging the short head biceps tendon and a torn rc. Fun, fun, fun.Originally Posted by Iron_Gook
TweetThat makes me cringe... WOW. Must have been painful as hell. I had x-rays taken the other day and there are no bone spurs or any other abnormality... just waiting for the MRI now...Originally Posted by kite

TweetOof, smells like rotator cuff. I would lay off shoulder and heavy shrugs for a few weeks. YOU DONT WANNA **** UP YOUR SHOULDERS!! please, take it from me
TweetSeriously, dont phuck up your rotator cuff. I tore mine completly and couldn't even pick up a full soup can. Got it repaired and its all good now. REHAB sucked bad.
TweetAgreed! There's no way it's your pec if you feel in on shrugs because the pec doesn't have any part in that move. Also, stop doing upright rows. IMO, they are a waste of time. You can get much more delt developement doing lateral raises with drop sets. If you are using uprights to hit traps you shouldn't be. The traps dont cross the shoulder joint and therefore they can't assist in upright row. The only way traps coem into play is if you elevate your scapula while doing the uprights. So, if you're going to do that, then just do it with the BB and DB's. IMO I used to get a lot of shoulder probs from that exercise.Originally Posted by kite
Tweetreason i do upright rows is because i feel my front delts exploding.. especialy when i do slow..concentrating motion..
