TweetTHAT IS THE WRONG INSULIN!!!!!!!
YOU ARE PUTTING YOURSELF AT A VERY HIGH RISK OF GOING HYPO!!!!!!
STOP AND GET ...-EDIT- by me-... JUST GET OFF THE INSULIN.
HOLY FUCKIN SHIT MAN.
TweetIm currently using Novalin N: Its effect begins approximately 1.5 hours after injection and maximum duration is between 4 and 12 hours, however, it may remain active for 24 hours.
Im injecting every other day @ 8 I.U.'s. I have been doing this for a week following a diet of 50g of protien with 50g of carbs right after the injection, then 100-150g of carbs 1.5 hours after the injection.
I havent really noticed any results and Im curious to know if anyone else has used Novalin N and if maybe I should change insulin types.
Thanks!

TweetTHROW THAN TYPE N INSULION AWAY, THAT SHIT PEAKS PEIODICALLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY, GOD FORBID YOU TAKE IT WITHIN 10 HOURS BEFORE BED!!!!
TweetMAN EDUCATE YOURSELF BEFORE TAKING ANYTHING AND PUTTING IT IN YOUR BODY! BE SAFE!!
Tweetok, now Im a little more calm...
what made you buy that type of insulin?
how much research did you do?
I dont mean to jump your ass, but you could DIE from what you are doing???
TweetI did my research trust me. I have no problems with the novalin n in fact because of its intermediate release I would prefer to use it over humalin R.

TweetMy research includes eight years of schooling. Like I said, I would almost rather use it than rapid release. Plus I consume over 400g of carbs/day and have a B.G. meter. Im not too worried.

TweetWhere do you get your information that it peaks periodicaly thoughout the day??? I dont think so. Think about that. If it peaked "periodicaly" or "randomly" throughout the day, diabetics would be screwed. Here is the graph of activity. I know its not PDR but I dont have a PDF file of it.Originally Posted by Sven

TweetEight years of school wont teach you how to use insulin and steroids CORRECTLY FOR BODYBUILDING. Did your 8 years of school teach you that you dont actually need 10g of carbs per unit of insulin, if you knew this you would not be allowing the excess carbs you are taking in to be stored as fat.Originally Posted by Prion
The whole idea behind using insulin is to use that big spike after injection to shuttle nutrients to your muscles.(ideally PWO when you become catabolic). By using a longer acting insulin, there isnt a large spike, and you have to keep your carb consumtion up for the entire duration it is active. For you that is 12 hours. What if you didnt have enough carbs before bedtime??? You must not be very active, if you have insulin in your system and are burning carbs through physical activity, and your carbs get low you WILL go hypo. Why risk that??
You are not getting results because there is no high peak with type "N" insulin. The way you are running it is keeping you anabolic, yes, but that is all it is doing.
Try this, run Humalog for a week, I gaurantee you will see69 a huge difference.
TweetThank you I appreciate the info at the end of your post. Thats what I was concerned about. I understand the carb intake, the shuttling, the fat conversion, I get all of that. My intake of carbs is what works ***for my body*** and I emphasize that because it is MY BODY MY METABOLISM. If I was gaining adipost from it I wouldnt be doing it. I know how many carbs I consume a day, how I live, how I work out, and how my body responds. Thats why I decided to use N, but like you said the hard spike is probably going to give me more of what Im looking for. Anyways, thanks for the concern and information.Originally Posted by Sven

TweetI dont mean to come off as an ass, I was just concerned and got excited. (not sexually...lol)
Im glad you are in tune to what your body needs.
I'm just trying to help.
TweetThank you I really do appreciate the fact that you are concerned. Im sure there are ALOT of other boards that would just let someone do something out of control and never say anything. Ill take any advice. Like I said before too it really does make more sense to just load up with a quick spike. Im going to discontinue the Novalin take a couple weeks then switch over to Humalog. Ill report back with the results.Originally Posted by Sven
