How much protein can your body absorb at once? My trainer says to not take more then 30g at a time, a lot of things online say 50g. Does anyone know? I am looking at getting a new protein shake and need to know what my limit should be.

      Thanks,
      Posit

IT varies depending on the person and, if your "ON" or not, has alot to do with it, I've heard anywhere from 30-50 grms. And if you take Ginger Root You can absorb more...I ussually go 50grm. 6x \Day

A guy came into the nutrition shop i work at and a "so-called-nutritionist" came in and proceeded to tell me that protein can only be digested at 25g/4 hrs. So i asked him how much protein should you take in in a 24 hr. period and he said 1gm/lb of body weight to see a good gain in muscle mass. Now how in the hell is someone who weighs 225 going to take in 225g of protein in a 24 hr period when only 25g can be digested per hour (according to him). That would be impossible. Anyway just thought id share that story with everyone.

I've heard the same thing. Except I was told that it was no more than 40g per 4 hour period. Maybe it depends on what product they are pushing
