Authorities Say Seven Die On Central Florida Roads
POSTED: 10:02 am EST January 29, 2006
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Authorities say seven people have been killed this weekend on central Florida roads.
Among those killed was Mateo Cruz, a 31-year-old Winter Park man who was the victim of a hit-and-run driver on State Road 436 east of Orlando.
State troopers have located a gold 2002 Saturn they believe hit Cruz.
Just minutes before that crash, one person was killed and another was injured when a Cadillac, traveling at a high speed, ran under a tractor-trailer on Interstate 4.
Also, two people were killed Saturday in separate crashes in Volusia County.
And, just before noon Saturday, 20-year-old Marisol Betancourt of Orlando, was killed in a single-car crash on the East-West Expressway.
A two-car crash about late Friday in Winter Park left one dead and three injured. And a woman carrying groceries across the street was killed Friday night in Ocoee.
