TweetI'm going to stay on for a year straight.
I havent read anything stating that you have to come off. I dont think there is a point where your endogenous GH is suppressed.
TweetGOOD TO HEAR. I'M PROBABLY HAVING MY SHOULDER SCOPED OUT SO WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD DAILY DOSE WHILE RECOVERING

doc doesnt know.
I believe when GH is prescribed for post surgery and burn victims, it is run short with high doses. My friend is able to workout so I felt 5ius was good for him.

TweetBe careful! If you run a search you should find my input on this subject. If you permanently surpress testosterone it could cost maybe $50 a month in hormone replacement therapy, if you permanently surpress GH levels, $400 plus a month.
TweetI was on HGH for 6 years. Dose varied from 3-8 IU's per day ... at 5 days on / 2 days off, injections at approximately 4 am and 9am. Began in my latter 30's, ran pretty much year round with the exception of my couple time a year trips of a couple weeks each.
I have my blood drawn every 4-6 weeks. I have been off HGH for about 6-7 months now (went completely clean to participate in some research). Running the way I did, my hormone levels have just slowly dropped back to where they began, high age appropriate normal. After I am done being a guinea pig, I will end up going back on HGH for another series of cycles.
I would say in general terms for someone in their 30-40's, running 3-5 IU's a day 5/2 won't do any permanent damage to your endogenous production. Of course as with everything we do, there are exceptions. Starting HGH too young, at too radical of a dose and frequency, or a pre-existing condition or tendency could certainly be cause for an exception, but as long as you use it sanely and monitor yourself, there shouldn't be any big surprises or problems.
Starting it a few months before a injury repair would certain aid in healing.
TweetTill your organs explode. j/k, you can stay on for 6 month at the 5IU or more level, then i kick it back to 2IU if you are doing like a yr on it.

If you searched, My doc, a prominent "sports medicine" MD reccomends the 5 on 2 off method and at least 8 weeks off per year. People who have exceeded that have had low igf levels that did not come back.
Tweetthanks for the post redbarron.
For those of you that dont know, Redbarron is one of the, if not the most knowledgeable bros around when it come to GH.
When he posts, I hit "print"
TweetThanks for the kind words Sven. I hope to be around here more now that my net access at home is back up and running after a lengthy period of problems.
firstenrgy - not sure which sports med doc you are going to ... in general it sounds like his advice is reasonable and pretty sound. I am a research doctor, and I am acquainted with several of the more prominent docs around. Not sure I would draw a definitive line at 8 weeks/yr off though (though a sound enough conservative approach). That hasn't been my experience or the experience of many of my close circle of friends (aka - guinea pigs). Granted, stating a range of 4-9 weeks a year would certainly cover the majority.
There have been several years that I have ran 24 on, 2 off, 24 on, 2 off and as stated my IGF levels have been unaffected. The problem with a written in stone blanket statement is there are many other variables to consider (ie - when you inject, how much you are injecting per injection and per day, what other supps are you taking with your growth, how old you are, are you monitoring your other hormone levels and BG levels, pre-existing medical conditions, your baseline hormone levels, etc., etc.). As with everything, it boils down to intelligent use and diligent monitoring.
The more prominant anti-aging doctors have conducted some spot-check type studies on long-term HGH users, and their findings in general thus far have been that 5 on/ 2 off seems to be sufficient to protect long term pituitary health and general hormonal well-being. That is probably about the best segment of users we have to go with at this point data-wise as they are otherwise healthy adults (and not growth deficient children or adults with wasting diseases). As posted above, there are always variables to be considered (which is why it is wise to be monitored by an endocrinologist), but for the most part I would stand with the general advice in my first post. For me and a pretty good segment of 30's to 50's athlete friends, our IGF levels have been a-okay with 5/2 and a couple of short breaks a year over a pretty long time frame.
