TweetSLEEP!!!! all the other stuff is a plus, but sleep is a must!
TweetSo the story is this. We are going to MY folks house for Thanksgiving this year instead of the in-laws as usual. I have been looking forward to my mom's cooking for Thanksgiving for months now. Well yesterday my throst started getting a little scratchy and got a bit congested. I'll be damned if I am sick tomorrow and miss out on Thanksgiving with my family and the homecooking from mom! I started pumping Echinacea yesterday evening, had some chicken soup and have been taking Vit. C, Garlic, Zinc and drinking lots of tea with lemon. So far I have staved off the cold and am only about half way into a full blown cold. Does anyone else have any tips or tricks that work for you to knock out a cold fast? I also have a gig this weekend, so I will need my voice for that as well...its just a terrible week to get sick.

Aerobics: a series of strenuous exercises which help convert fats, sugars, and starch into aches, pains and cramps! (that's why I don't do 'em LOL)
TweetLooks like you are taking everything already. I was going to recommend Tea with lemon and honey. Also try a table spoon of Spiced rum.
TweetThanks! My wife has been telling me the same thing, but I have two VERY large pieces of business I have to sign off on today at work before the holidays hit. As soon as that is done off to bed I go...I did sleep until 8:30 today so that was good.
TweetI get upper resp infections and the only thing that will help is an anti-biotic. I use Avelox and take it once ed, i started off with Biaxin then i built up a resistance to it, the Agumentin, then Effexor, now its Avelox lol!
TweetSpiced Rum EH? Sounds good, do you now how that specifically helps with the cold? Not doubting it, just very curious. I will have to pick some up on the way home this afternoon...I am all outOriginally Posted by supasaiyan99
TweetThe rum I'm not sure exactly how it effects the cold but my parents are from the Caribbean and they use rum in all their remedies. It always work for me after taking it for about 3 days.Originally Posted by CUTUP

TweetAirborne works. it has a lot a caffeine in it, need to take every four hours or so. Makes me "feel good". I think the it's the caffeine.
TweetAirborne helps AFTER you get the cold? I thought it was just for avoiding it...cool, I will check it out...
TweetGot the Echinacea...no golden seal, its at my folks house. Sleep is coming very soon...I think I might be able to knock this cold on its snotty little ass.
