TweetEphedrine is a drug derived from the plant Ephedra equisetina. It has been used for hundreds of years as a CNS stimulant and a decongestant. A synthetic form of the drug, pseudoephedrine, is a common ingredient in over-the-counter and prescription cold and allergy products. Structurally similar to amphetamines, it increases blood pressure and heart rate. The mechanisms behind ephedrine's effect on weight-loss appear to be those of increasing energy expenditure through increased lipolysis; increasing basal metabolic rate through thyroxine; and decreasing food intake by suppressing appetite.
Ephedrine Claims
Increases body fat loss
Improves athletic performance
Improves concentration
Research Shows
Research has found no effect of ephedrine on strength, endurance, reaction time, anaerobic capacity, or recovery time after prolonged exercise
Ephedrine products have been found to contain from 0% to 100% of the amount listed on the label
Side effects vary and do not correlate with the amount consumed
Caffeine potentiates the effect of Ephedrine and the combination can be dangerous
Tips and Cautions
Ephedrine is banned by the NCAA and the IOC
FDA has documented 40 deaths and more than 800 side effects linked to Ephedrine use
Side effects include:
irregular heart rate
elevated blood pressure
dizziness
headache
heart attack
stroke
seizure
psychosis
death
Ma huang is an herbal form of ephedrine called ephedra that is contained in many herbal products available in health food stores (often along with chromium). Recent changes in USFDA regulations excuse the makers of nutrition supplements from fully identifying the contents of their products. Ma huang has been blamed for the deaths of several high school students who used it as a stimulant or aphrodisiac; the deaths presumably resulted from CNS bleeding or cardiac arrhythmia.
There continues to be conflicting arguments regarding the safety of ephedra. For every study that shows a side-effect, there is a study that shows the product does what it claims to do. The best advice is to lose weight the way sports nutritionists recommend: proper diet and exercise. If you choose to take ephedra or ephedrine, you should consume them according to national industry standards.

TweetIts funny how some people get totally messed up when they take, and others naturally have a very high tolerance to it, personally i love the stuff.........

TweetI love it . I lift more and dont want to quit while on it.
"There is no such thing as big pussies just little dicks. If it is loose just keep packing dick to it."
TweetI LOVE ephedrine...the only drawback is it's difficult to get an erection for a few hours after you take it, atleast for me
TweetDon't have the research, but I have read there have been no reported deaths with taking 25mg or less a day.
Stacker 3 a common ECA has 25mg. I took it for a couple months. Worked well to supress the appitite, give loads of energy, made my heart race while lifting, lightheaded etc.
So do the good outweigh the bad? I believe so. Just make sure you cycle it just like anything else. 2weeks on 2 weeks off!
Tweetgood thread kid.
TweetI personally have had no problems with it and it keeps me motivated during my workout

TweetI'd love to know where this rumor of cycling ECA 2 weeks on 2 weeks off started, there is no reason to do it.Originally posted by Only1eagle

Good point. Didnt catch this one. Ephedrine has a half life of 3-4 hours, so a steady flow of it during the day is fine. Granted you need to come off sometime, but at 2 weeks? No way man. People use them upwards of 16 weeks when cutting, no damage. 81 Deaths in 7 years from ephedrine based products, thats 11.5 a year, hard to tell what percentage of them had pre-existing medical conditions (heart) and died as a result of over stimulation of the CNS and of course, use ephedrine as a scapegoat for a problem as linked to cause of death.
TweetAs with anything I feel moderation is the key.
I do a 2-2-2-2
2 weeks ECA
2 weeks Xenedrine Eph free
2 weeks NYC
2 weeks Xenedrine Eph free
Just never want my system getting to used to ANYTHING!
Shrug try it for yourself I am just posting my feelings to it
TweetIf you post your feelings, make sure you put "This is what I do" not "Make sure you cycle it on and off 2 weeks on, 2 off"
Thats a bit misleading.
