Okay so I posted a few months ago about sharp pain I was feeling in the back of my shoulder. Everyone told me to stop working out and let it heal. So I went probably about 4-6 weeks without working out at all. Didn't help.

So I decided to get back into working out and it hasn't gotten better or worse. It's just still painful. An odd thing I noticed was I can do flat bench with no problem but as soon as I bring the bar close to my chest on incline's the pain becomes unbearable. So I can't do incline's at all. What could this be?

If I lift my arms out to the side the pain is very sharp and right in the back of my shoulder. I can feel slight pain into the tricep area also. But only slight. All the pain is centralized in the back of the shoulder. It even hurts when I shake/throw my blankets onto my bed.(kind of like how you would shake sand off of a towel at the beach)

Being that resting didn't help it one bit. Not even a little. How can I fix this?

You need to see a doctor. It still sounds like a rotator cuff injury to me. Working out will only make it worse.

Sucks I just purchased health insurance & I'm waiting to be approved. As soon as I am I'll see a doctor. I was just hoping someone might have had similar symptoms and would know either how to treat it, or what exercises won't affect it.

I told you it can take months. Now, because you worked out you will have to start all over at week one. Mine took like 10 months to get back to normal. That's 10 months of no serious lifitng. But now I'm fine. You need to listen to those who have been down this road before. 4 weeks is not long enough for an injury. A sprain, yes, an injury, no. That's what we all told you. Now you probably need to go see a doctor.

Rest doesn't always heal an injury though. You should get a professional diagnosis as soon as your insurance kicks in. Then you'll at least know what you are dealing with.

I concure a professional diagnosis with x-ray,mri or scans of the area are in order. This will confirm what needs to be done to remedy the problem. Surgery may be required. Till then just take it easy so not to make it worse.

Yeah I have no clue. I'll just wait till I see the doctor. I don't want to just stop working out and then find out it's nothing serious. One of my relatives is a physical therapist (on the other side of the country) and told me if it didn't heal in 2 months, it's either something else or I need surgery. Though he did say it's hard to give good advice without seeing me firsthand. So I'm wondering if it's something else.

As soon as my medical kicks in I'll find out. I guess I'll just omit shoulder workouts until I find out then.
