Okay peoples I need some opinions

I have always had new cars, since I turned 16 only 1 of my 9 cars has been used and that was the first one.

Now I drive a nice car I bought new a year ago

My fiancé had a 2000 frontier 4cyl truck. Someone hit her the other day and it is probably totaled.

No I am thinking that instead of buying new I may pay cash for a $4k or less car.

I could get a Hyaundi Accent with 50K miles that is 4 years old for $3500.

What do you all think of used cars? Are they usually reliable? I can’t change the oil so a car that requires a lot of maintenance isn’t going to be worth the cost savings

      Let me hear ya

new car is always better since THEY have teh warranty on it but u can buy a use one as long as teh previous owner didn't rape teh car..and changed teh oil at the right milage and took care of it...usually wt used car, u will have A PROB ONE AFTER ANOTHER..LEARN FROM ME

I would get new if you can. Interest rates are at an all time low right now and dealers are giving good deals. If anything, get a demo from a dealer lot with like 10k miles or less and make the best deal you can on it, at least you will still get the dealer warranty and still not have many miles on it and you'll get thousands off what you'd pay for a new one. Don't buy off an individual, you won't get a warranty and with that kind of mileage it won't last long before you start having probs.

I hear you both, and you both reflect my belief,

however I just need a car to get me to work, all it needs is air conditioning and reliabilty

even with low interest rates, a cheap car at 13k is 9k over a used ride

      I want more opinions please

My motto is get the least mileage and lastest yr for the best deal you can make on the car you want at a dealership. That way you still have a dealer warranty and not many miles

I agree^ get her the honda civic ex model in a demo. they have the power options and sunroof, plus they get great gas mileage.

just gripped an '02... good buy all the way around. paid $13 for it with 34K miles.

i know it's more than you want to spend, but you just can't go wrong with a civic.

back this up with a story or something

I just pulled a ton of reviews for Accents and Civics

61% of Accent's reviews were favorable compared to 46% for the Civic

Now this is no where scientific.............but

SE go to the New Car Honda Dealership, not the Used car dealer, and just ask them if they have any civic demos. If they don't they can go on their computer and try to locate one for you in your area. Honda civics new run around $20K, depending on the model, so if you can get a pretty new demo with low miles you can generally take off 5k or maybe more and still have a like new car. You just have to do some leg work.
