TweetThere are two ways - but hardly anyone who succeeds in bodybuilding will not take vitamins and mineral supplements
Mostly Natural is in reference to people who do not use illegal substances.
TweetDO YOU THINK SOMEONE THAT TAKES OVER THE COUNTER SUPPLEMENTS ARE STILL CONSIDERED "NATURAL" OR IS NATURAL COMPLETELY WITHOUT ANYTHING??
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
O2

Tweetsince most supplements are 100% bullshit i would say taking them would not make you "unnatural".
i only think you lose natural status when pharmaeuticals are involved.
Tweetas far as "muscle building" supplements a lot are bullshit. but there are MANY supplements that hv numerous positive effects on the body. I could pull lots of studies and i can also vouch for some of them through blood work and my own experiences.
Technically you could argue that I think college in canada would agree that it is not natural (they are not aloud to use tribulus or even green tea i believe).
but no, htats rediculous
Tweet"natural" depends on the federation you compete in. Most organizations have their own guidlines and some use the IOC standards which also includes the exessive use of caffeine.
Tweetif refering to creatine/no and trib. your still a natty imo

Tweetyeah the whole "natural" thing can't be debated that way. It doesnt really mean "natural" in the sense that no chemicals are taking, b/c some aas are natural existing compunds as well, natural just means no aas. Otherwise one coulod argue, well vits and supps are mostly natural, but so is T

TweetWell I think if you use anything besides protein and vitamins then you are not natural. I know people who have used pro-hormones but don't want to use AAS because they want to stay natural. Pro-hormones are supposed to give you roid like effects. IMO if someone is willing to take pro-hormones then that means they are willing to take AAS. Thus they are not natural. Same goes to all of the other BS supplements out there that claim to mimic anabolic effects. So if someone takes those supplements with the intent of gaining roid like gains then they are not natural.
TweetI think vitamins and other supps like creatine or whey are natural. Hormonal supplementation is where I draw the line.
TweetIn my opinion everything is "natural". There are only 113ish elements on the periodic table. Until someone invents a suplement or AS that gives me powers in like, the 8th dimension to grow huge pecs in a paralell universe i'll take anything this world has to offer and manipulate it to suit my needs and be satisfied that i am still well within the bounds of "natural". just my thoughts.
As a side note... natural will always be perception. The can of tuna you wolf down would likely be very unnatural to a roman soldier trying to stay in shape. I'd love to see the expression on his face when you plug in your electroic can opener, dump the tuna into a perfectly shaped plastic bowl, spread some mayo on it and go to town.
Good question though o2... i think that anyone that says people on gear are un-natural but swallow other chemicals produced in labs by supplement companies should re-examine their thinking.

TweetNo one is natural with all the hormones in the meat. Unless they don't eat meat then there are still have other foods which are sprayed with chemicals and hormones.
I would guess that most people believe that using steriods, insulin, GH, et al make the user chemically enhanced.
The reason being that these drugs allow you to acheive a level that is unlikely without them.
If you never took creatine, or protein powder you could still acheive a level of development that is the same or similiar to a you that is heavily supplemented (an educated guess).
With steroids, etc. the development acheived far exceeds what the user typically looks like without drugs.
Have you seen pro's after they have stopped using, most lose a significant amount of muscle tissue. Of course they probably reduce their intensity, food intake etc.
