Ex girls owes me $820. Any advice?

Everytime I catch, yes I have to trick her, her on the phone she says she doesn't have anytime to talk to me. Anyone have any ideas on how to get my money? Can I take her to court?

Sounds like you gys didnt have any type of agreement on the terms and conditions of paying it back, that sucks bc its her word against yours...the judge will then make his own term on the payback.

TweetTry to get her to give you an IOU. It's a little thing but it's a crewd contractual agreement. It acknowledges the fact theat you did LOAN it to her and that she knows she is supposed to pay it back. Make sure she signs it and dates it.It is after the fact but it is something.. The judge will frown upon her, i can guarentee you that.

Just be all sincere and be like "look, i know you dont have the money to pay me back and i have no problem with that. Take the time you need and its cool, i just need you to sign this for my records." Heck, ask her if she needs more money and that you're willing to help in any way you can. tell her that it hurts you to see her in trouble and that you'll be there for her or some BS line like that. YOU NEED something bro...

No, just kidding. Here's my rule, don't loan any money out to ANYONE unless you can do without the money. Always consider it a gift, that way you never get screwed. Unless of course you keep giving your money away.

With that said, yes, you can take her to court. People go to court all the time and if she lies in court she's really screwed. All you need in one witness to say you loaned her the money. Hell, if she's at the ATM with you there are cameras. I don't know if you could get those but its a try.

Also, you will have record of her either paying bills with cash or making cash deposits in her bank which she will have to explain in court. You can have her bank records requested by the court. There are many ways to get it back.

TweetWell if it was recent and from your bank, you can call her bluff and tell her that she needs to cough up the money or at least an IOU with a portion of the payment or you will call the police and report that she stole your card and took the cash. She was your girlfriend so easy enough for her to know your PIN. If she gives a partial payment, well thats your proof to the amount she owes. If you took out the cash at the ATM and not her, your pretty much OUL.

TweetI'd jsut consider it gone or stolen, same happened with me before, its a lost cause unless she changes her ways or you spend more time and money thatn its worth and go to small claims or whatever. The stress and feeling pissed about it are just not worth it in the end I think.

TweetI'm with nate and t-man on this one man... con your way into getting an iou from her and then take her to small claims court. Keep your atm reciept with the iou and try and have the court subpeona bank records, bill payments etc from her if she denies it. Even IF you get a judgement though, it can be hard to collect. You'll pretty much be in the same spot you are in now, just with a piece of paper from a court saying she owes you money. Collecting it can involve trying to co-ordinate with the sherrifs department to impound assests for auction if she doesn't cough it up and you are in for a long long road if you have to go that route. Read up online about it, there is alot of info out there.

verbal contracts are not always invalid and unenforceable.
