TweetSO NOBODY HAS ANY PHYSICAL AILMENTS THEY LIFT THRU, .
TweetLIFTING THRU PAIN IS A DAILY TASK FOR SOME PEOPLE. I'VE HAD MANY SURGERIES FROM MY ACL TO ROTATOR CULF TO LOWER BACK L5 AND SOME DAYS FIND IT TOUGH TO MAKE IT THRU MY WORKOUT. I ALWAYS WENT THRU ALL THE PHYSICAL THEREPY AND THEN SOME TO GET MY HEALTH THE BEST I COULD. NEVER SHORTED MYSELF EVER. I CAN'T BENCH STRAIGHT BAR BECAUSE OF MY SHOULDER AND HAVE TO PAY CLOSE ATTTENTION WHEN BENCHING DUMBBELLS THAT MY ELBOWS ARE IN AND FORM IS THERE OTHER WISE I DON'T HAVE CONFIDENCE THAT MY CULF WILL HOLD. MY BACK IS SORE ALL THE TIME BUT WHEN I WORK MY BACK I HAVE NO PROBLEMS W/ WHAT EVER WEIGHT I USE OR EXERCISE, WHEN I GET HOME SORE AS HELL ALL THE TIME, IS THIS SOMETHING I HAVE TO LIVE W/ BECAUSE OF POSSIBLE NERVE DAMAGE. THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE HAD L5 REPAIR HOW WAS THE RECOVERY? DO YOU LIVE, LIFT & JUICE W/ THIS PAIN AND JUST SUCK IT UP. WHAT ABOUT SHOULDERS WHO HAS HAD THERE'S REPAIRED DO YOU PRESS ON THROUGH THE PAIN AND HOPE IT ALL HOLDS TOGETHER. I'M JUST FEELING SKIDDISH ABOUT ALL MY AILMENTS AND LIFTING HARD. WHEN USING GEAR IS IT REQUIRED TO LIFT WHAT YOU CAN AND KEEP UPPING YOUR WEIGHT AS YOU CAN HANDLE IT OR IS THERE ANY PROBLEMS W/ JUST DOING WHAT YOU HAVE TO TO GET A WORKOUT IN. MOST WOULD RESPOND THEY LIFT TO LIFT MORE. I DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO KEEP MY LEGIMENTS AND TENDONS HEALTHY AND STRONG BECAUSE I KNOW MY MUSCLES WILL HOLD BUT THE REST IS QUESTIONABLE. THE FIRST RESPONCE TO MY READING WOULD BE SEE YOUR DOCTOR WELL I'VE TALKED TO ALL MY SURGENS AND THEY SAY KEEP GOING I'M NOT AT A POINT WERE SURGERY IS NEEDED AGAIN. SO SHOULD I PUSH IT OR MAINTAIN IT I KNOW I SHOULD LISTEN TO MY INSIDE VOICE BUT ANOTHER VOICE SAYS GO GO GO. I GUESS I WOULDN'T MIND HEARING WHAT YOU OTHERS GUYS LIFT THROUGH AND WHAT INTENSITY YOU HAVE AT THE GYM, AND I KNOW SOME OF YOU LIFT W/ PAIN BECAUSE I READ ALL THE POSTS AND PAY ATTENTION. LET ME HEAR SOME TRUTH FROM YOU TOUGH GUYS OUT THERE. ALL OF US HAVE ONE THING IN COMMON THAT BRINGS US HEAR "FITNESS" AND IN THIS REALMINJURY IS VERY COMMON AND EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW HOW TO HANDLE IT AND WHAT TO DO SO WE ALL CAN CONTINUE TEAR THOSE GYMS ACROSS AMERICA UP. HAVE A GOOD NIGHT, OFF TO THE GYM. PEACE OUT.

TweetWell I never had surgery done before but if it doesnt hurt most of the time when u lift I would lift hard while on aas and if it does dont take aas just a waste when u cant give it all jmo .I'd go get physical therapy done as much as possible and make sure get some rest when it seems to ail bad jacuzzi ,accupuncture ,etc. Think strong ,and keep ur head up and sometimes u have to go for it ! If it hurts bad dont risk it ,I dont know how bad it hurts but u know yourself so u know how much ur body can handle its the risk u take sometimes . Hopefully it'll get better ,good luck !

TweetIf an excercise hurts...Stop! Your body is telling you to. I have a bad back, bad shoulder, and a bad wrist, but i have learned to work around them, and learned what movements i can and cannot do.
TweetIndeed. If it hurts, there is a reason for it. I have to be very careful when doing squats from previous hurnia surgery. You can work around it and be careful, and still get good results.
TweetGOOD FEED BACK, DO YOU GUYS RUN GEAR AND WORK AROUND YOUR INJURY'S IS THAT WHAT I UNDERSTAND, I KNOW YOU WON'T ADIVSE ME TO DO ANYTHING W/ MY INJURIES BUT JUST CURIOUS HOW YOU'S HANDLE IT. DO WHAT DOESN'T HURT AND AVOID PAINFUL EXERCISES EVEN IF THEY ARE BENCHING AND PRESSING WHICH ARE MAIN EXERCISES CAN GEAR STILL BE EFFECTIVE WHEN AVOIDING THESE EXERCISES. THANKS PEACE OUT.

TweetIm going to have to back you up, I lift through the pain, I have had multiple cortizone injections into my shoulder and yet it has yet to get fixed, Ive had a compacted spine from that damn dirt bike, hell I even flipped by 954RR dislocated my shoulder and had half my back and arm skin missing but i went in the gym bandaged up still bleeding but i was in a cycle and refused to give it up, I have done the rehab I have tried the anti inflam nothing works, I was even using a topical anesthetic to dull the pain, my bench has dropped almost 100lbs, i cant even do lat raisesanymore but i wont give in. I am having the arthoscopic surgery on my shoulder this coming May and I pray to god that it will help. So just wanted to let you know I know your pain, and I dont stop no matter what people say.

Tweeti have had 2 sugeries, my rotator cuff was scoped and so was my knee. there is a diference between lift through pain and discomfort. pain is your body screaming "asshole dont do this to me". Discomfort can come from soreness or just plain hard work.
lilhawk cortizone is not supposed to heal the joint it just makes it more comfortable it actually hurts the joint in the longer run. they give it to ya so your ok until u get surgery.

Tweeti've had a few surgeries, the one that bothers me was a forarm surgery from an airolsal can rupture. the can wrapped around my arm and tore tendens and ligaments on top of my forearn( they said i'd never open my hand again, bullshit!!). had total reconstructive surgery, i suffer through forearm pain on most (if not all) pulling excersizes...i still dont let up. just the way it is. left arm grows slower, so i have to hit it more often w/dumbells.
HE WHO MAKES A BEAST OF HIMSELF, GET'S RID OF THE PAIN OF BEING A MAN!!

I LOVE BOOBOOKITTY...
Tweetone of the worst excercises you can do for your shoulder is a flat/straight bar benchpress. Try going in a very slight incline, with dumbbells...I bet it wont hurt nearly as much...same with shoulder press.use dumbbells.
Yes i use gear, and no i dont do things that hurt.heavy benchpresses hurt my shoulder like hell...but if i stick in the 7-8 rep range i am fine..
Just be careful, and use good form and judgement, and you will be just fine
