You're asking questions that we don't know. There are so many things here that come into play. Tell him to get a lawyer or even better, call one.

Most lawyers will give you the 1st consultation for free. Look the statues in YOUR state and see what his charge was ie. statue number...Good luck...

TweetWould not hand over information, especially on your own computer to to law enforcement unless they have a warrant or first consulting a lawyer. IMO he shouldn't have had them copy his e-mails until after he consulted an attorney. Everyone has 5th amendment right, and it is not wrong to use it when you don't know what to do. Many law enforcement ppl try to intimidate ppl to get information, it is a part of their tactics, and if it incriminates you, or they find something that is illegal, they can use it against you later. Hope he didn't have anything in there about the selling or distribution of aas.

Tweetif he had evidence of illegal activity, he pretty much self incriminated himself, by volunteering the info. Get a lawyer quick, and dont say anything else. only make matters worse!
