Hey, has anybody ever tried, or heard of Physostigmine?
It's a drug used to treat myasthenia gravis. I'll give a little bit of info. then see if anybody's heard of this or tried it.
Myasthenia gravis is a condition where the patient will suffer from progressive muscular weakness. What was found was that it blocks neural transmission at the synapses on muscles. This drug, physostigmine deactivates acetylcholinesterase (AChE) - which is an enzyme that destroys acetylcholine (ACh) - a neurotransmitter found in the brain, spinal cord, and parts of the PNS; responsible for muscular contraction. Anyway, by deactivating AChE, physostigmine greatly increases and prolongs the effects of ACh on the postsynaptic membrane, which increases the strength of the synaptic transmission at the synapses of muscles.
It seems to me that this drug could maybe benefit bodybuilders. Giving them extra strength for their workouts. So, has anybody heard of this, or tried it?
I bend but I do not break.
