What do you think of when you hear the word diet?
Do you vision cutting out your favorite foods? Do you see yourself starving on a few pieces of lettuce per day and a glass of water?
Do you even think it's possible to lose weight on a diet you can't enjoy?
If not, you're not alone. When I even mention the word "diet" to anyone, the first thing that ask is "So does that mean I can't eat Mcdonald's anymore? Ok, ok...Let me get one last Big Mac and I'll start on Monday..."
First of all, let's define the word diet and see what we come up with.

By definition, the word diet means:
1 a : food and drink regularly provided or consumed b : habitual nourishment c : the kind and amount of food prescribed for a person or animal for a special reason
Did you get that? Read it again!
Dieting has nothing to do with taking away! In order to diet, you should be consuming food and drink on a regular basis. Keyword being "REGULAR."
Sounds easy doesn't it?
Free eating tip #1:
You must eat food on a regular basis for optimum health.
By not eating on a regular basis, you force your body to find alternate means of fueling itself. Since your body's primary source of energy is glucose, your gets glucose from the most available source.
No, not your stored bodyfat. Remember, stored fat is a reserve just in case your body has nothing else to use.
The answer? Your body goes directly to your muscles for the energy! By doing this, you break down one of the body's main lines of defense against excess bodyfat storage.
You see, the more muscle tissue you have, the more energy you'll use and the less bodyfat you will accumulate.
On the other hand, if you break that precious muscle tissue down, you're going to have less of a chance of increasing the rate at which your body burns fat! This, in turn will cause you to store more fat because your metabolism isn't running at peak efficiency!
So, eat and eat frequently. Every three hours is a good start.
Easy right? Thought so...

Eat What Your Body Needs
Here's how it works. Your body needs a certain amount of calories per day to function properly. These calories come from protein, carbohydrates and fat. Here's the genius behind it all...
To lose weight, eat less calories than your body requires. To gain weight, eat MORE calories than your body requires. That's it!
So here's how to make that works. Let's say your body needs 2,500 calories per day to run efficiently.
To lose weight constantly...what do you do?
Correct! Eat less than 2,500 calories! But remember the first tip, eat regularly. So reduce your calories a little bit at a time. Remember, this is about CONSISTENT weight loss.
Not DRASTIC weight loss.
By reducing your calories a little bit at a time, you condition your body to reduce the amount of fat, protein, and carbohydrates it needs to utilize. Over time, your body's size will adjust to the change!
Eat a little less, lose a little more. Eat a little more, gain a little more!
Once again, easy right?
Free eating Tip #3
Enjoy what you eat!
Here's probably the most overlooked of all the steps. If you don't eat what you enjoy, do you think you'll stick with it long enough?
Answer this: If you have a job where you're not getting paid enough and the work is terrible, how long will it be before you're looking for work elsewhere?
I thought so...
Eat what you enjoy and you'll stick with it longer. Before you know it, you'll be feeling and looking better than ever before!
