Like now..... I'm laying on the sofa watching some silly Disney movie with my daughter & surfing the web.....

TweetHonestly I prefer my CPU upstairs. It's faster. This laptop is supposed to be superior in every aspect; Hard disk space, memory, Athalon XP...etc., but my comp upstairs is still faster. It just feels like a dungeon in my office.
My wife's laptop has a cellular uplink (Sprint). I'd really be in trouble with that one
TweetLaptop, but no wireless network.

TweetJust setup a access list using Mac Addresses. You cant change mac addresses as they are burned into NIC Firmware.

TweetBUT! Most routers nowadays will allow you to do MAC address spoofing. MY $75 linksys will anyway...Originally posted by Cipher

BUT, you still need to figure out what a valid MAC address on their network is..

I just know this because we were thinking about doing this where I work. However... it's just too simple to walk up to a machine, run IPCONFIG, write down the MAC address, then unplug the machine and plug in a router with the MAC address spoofed. Hell you could even plug in a wireless router and hide it behind someone's desk... the original PC would still work, and you'd be able to hack the network from the parking lot for days or even weeks before someone stumbles across the router.

TweetMy wifes laptop with the Sprint PCS card is damn near as fast as my cable modem! I wish I new what the bill on it was each month. It's from her work so I have no idea what it costs. THAT THING IS AWESOME! Online, anywhere, anytime!
TweetI have a laptop sniffing networks for that purpose...(Wireless Router) as for a wired router with MAC Addy Spoofing, 2 things prohibit that. First off The IP address has to be manually assigned in the router, first they have to register for the IP on a databse I made which they cant and then they have to have the hostname that corresponds with that IP in the database and use that as the routers hostname as it does a dns query before allowing outbound traffic.
