Tweet2 lbs/week. IMO, there is no need to check daily as your weight will fluctuate a little bit daily. Once a week is a good measure of progress.

TweetI agree any more than 2lbs/week and it is just water or muscle. Also your weight will fluctuate day to day. I would pay attention to it because all it will do is discourage you.Originally posted by StoneColdNTO

TweetI have seen some research stating that 2lbs is your bodies "natural" limit, if you are on sometype of AAS, T3, Clen, ECA stack then this number will probably go up. I will try to dig up this research if you like? But even do it out on a calculator. A pound of BF is 3500cals, so 2lbs is 7000cals. Lest say your a 200lbs man your calorie needs to stay even are probably around 2300 (I think it will be even lower than this since you are dieting and your metabolism will have slowed but let us forget this for now) So you are saying that you can do it by just getting enough protein to prevent the catabolic state, Let us go for the extreme and say you are just getting 2g/lbs of protein in your diet, no carbs no fat. That is 1600cals per day you are taking in. So now you are at a daily calorie loss of 700cals per day, that is 4900cals for the week. Ok now let us say that you do the standard cardio 5 times a week for 40mins, that should be about 500cals burnt. At 5 times for the week that is another 2500cals. Total you have 7400cals burnt for the week. There is your 2lbs of fat. This is a very extreme example in my mind and it only displays losing 2lbs of fat at the max. I still feel that 2lbs per week is the max fat you can lose. If anyone would like to argue otherwise I would love to hear it, always want to learn something new.Originally posted by alwayzgrowing

No rocket scientist, Financial engineer. Almost as bad.
I have just dealt with a very high bodyfat % all my life and I have always tried getting it down. I am a big fan of doing a lot of research on things, diet would be my specialty I guess.

TweetPain,
That is the beauty of this (and i guess many) boards. Some people love to research info and share it with other bros, and others like to sit back and just read the info for themselves. We need more like you.

TweetYou probably want to lose 2-3 pounds per week. This adds up to 10-12 pounds per month. Over an 8 week cutting cycle that drops you down 20 pplus pounds. Who wants to drop more than that anyway?!?!
