Can anabolic steroids be added to the list of addictive drugs? Early signs point to addictive patterns among users. At the very least, users demonstrate an unwillingness to give up anabolic steroids even in the face of possibly dire consequences to their health.

I know what you mean Jughead. I put up the thread and then it got me thinking. Without use of reference, gear it would be psychological and physical. All of thew things that deal with juice go into the addicition. Getting, using, poking, mental response, physical response, etc. Like with smoking it's not only the nicotine, it's the act of buying, the act of smoking, the timing of smoking, you get the point. Bottom line is an addict is a man or woman whose life is controlled by drugs. And as our addiction progresses, we think of stopping less and less. For any user the day will come when there is no longer a choice; you have to use.

      Psychologically – yes.

      Physiologically – no.

To me a true addiction means that your body develops a physiological need for a drug.

Ever see a junkie get the DTs (delirium tremens)? They can’t simply use mind over matter to stop their drug use – their bodies need the drug. In fact, sudden withdrawal of a drug that someone is seriously physiologically addicted to can potentially be fatal.

Although steroids have a direct physical effect on the body, they do not potentate a physiological need for the drug.

Good point Drenten... I still don't know the answer but was fumbling with the definition of what addiction is. Phyically makes me wonder because of the shutting down process and the crashing business that juice can manifest.

I agree, in those type individuals that's were most of the problems can fall as they tend to create problems for themselves.

An addictive personality is a trait, or set of traits, that develops in response to habit-forming drugs/alcohol or compulsive behavior (gambling, overeating/undereating, sex). It is not present prior to an addiction. One cannot predict an individual?s predisposition to develop an addiction by looking for an addictive personality.

To deal with AAS, not that individual, I've come to the understanding that their dependancy capability is unknown.

i think the answer to this question depends on the personality of the person doing it. some guys on this board are, or want to be huge, and some just want to look good. i know people who are gigantic, talk about themselves all the time, and will probably never stop. myself however, i just want some help to get to where i would like to be, 200 lbs.(currently 17 pounds away). Although i admit, juicing is one of the best things i have ever done, i will stop.
