For me, I'm always right on border line of catabolic to keep lean, hey, gotta go this way at my age, and for me notice a difference with colds and such, do 5mg before am workout, 5 mg with dinner and 5 mg before night shake

TweetJack hit it on the head. Whey protein contains quite a bit. I don't have one in front of me, but the Optimum jug has the amino acid profile on the back. You will find the glutamine amount per scoop there.

TweetI usually take 10-15 grams 3 times per day .When I get up first thing in the morning I take that first , then before I workout , and after I workout. I personally think it helps me ,yeah I get less colds/sick and it helps ur imune system. Yeah its pricey ......if u get it get the pure L-glutamine
