TweetFor those of you that have served time, what was your first night in prison like? What do you remember about that night?
I was 20 (eight years ago) and I had to spend six months in jail. My first night I remember lying in my bed looking up at the ceiling thinking "what the fuck has just happened to my life". I remember thinking that in a blink of an eye I have lost my freedom for the next six months.
I blew off a pipebomb and was very fortunate that I did not kill anyone. I used a five minute wick to ignite the bomb and about 5 seconds before the thing blew up three kids walked by the place I had set it and ended up walking into a building. The pipebomb blew up and sent chrapnal flying all over the place and lodging it into nearby buildings. Fortunately no one was hurt and I only got slapped with unlawful storage of explosives via a plea agreement.
The worst thought of that night in prison came when I imagined what if I would have killed someone. My life would have been over and I would have had to live with my stupid choices for the rest of my miserable life.

1) I just watched the movie butterfly effect. Watch it bro.. it'll send shivers down your spine. There is a scene where the kids get a stick of dynamite and decide to blow up the neighbours big fancy mailbox. Shortly after they lite it, the mother returns home and walks out to check the mail while carrying her newborn baby. Yup.. you guessed it. I almost puked... for the same reason it'd bug you.
2) I did something very similar to you in my youth. 19years old with a pipebomb on halloween night. Blew up two banks of mailboxes. Over 20individual boxes totally destroyed. Nobody got hurt... luckily it was in a pretty empty area with no houses immediately nearby. Luckily for me I had a clean record, and ended up with a conditional discharge, a heafty fine, and a crapload of community service. The scarriest moment of my life was the 2nd last court appearance. I was walking into Supreme court...judge and full jury... whitnesses lined up...facing a maximum penalty of 19years in jail....OH god did it suck. Some people have to learn the hard way I guess.
RIP BigJim33 & GearedUp: You are sorely missed my friends.
Hindsight is always 20/20. But looking back it's still a bit fuzzy.
Tweetnobody else is gonna ask so i will

TweetI was scared when they first charged me with 5 felonies and I was looking at a hefty sentence as well. I did learn the hard way but it was worth it.

TweetI didn't go to the pen, but I spent a little time in county jail. Me and my mother n law didn't see eye to eye, she wanted me to leave her house and I told her that I was either welcome there all the time or not welcome at all....I'm not into the games where "I'm mad and you've got to leave bullshit" So she made me leave.........but not before I placed my 01' Chevrolet Z71 with 6" Dick Cepek lift and 35x12.50 B/F's on the hood of her 00' Nissan Maxima!!! I also left some nice ruts in the grass and mowed down a few trees and shrubs. Spent time in county, community service, and mandatory anger management class. But I wouldn't have changed anything about my situation, it was worth it....
