Tweetif it's not hot, and bumpy and u don't have fever, he most likely ruptured some bloodvessels while moving the needle around (when he was pulling it out etc) and some of the blood leaked out, causing a bruise. the bruise will most likely expand a little bit as it heals.
it's also possible that he injected it subq, but that wouldn't explain the bruise.
keep an eye on it for the next couple of days. if the site gets really hot and painful, and if u can feel a little bump/lump underneath, see a doc.
btw if he did inject it subq, it will get absorbed, but it will take more time and it will hurt a lot more. don't worry about abcess
TweetMAN WHAT AN UGLY ASS YOU HAVE
It can be absrobed but it´ll take longer, anyway keep an eye on that spot.

TweetUPDATE: 4 hours after that pic was taken the red area has spread and now it is darker red and purple. think it's an abcess now? Should I poke it and try to drain it with a syringe?
TweetMan, if you do try and drain it, use a short needle
TweetThat's not an abcess.
A couple of things.
Obviously he nicked a blood vessel. Which explains the very dark bruising coloration. Secondly it may spread larger than that before it's all over - and it most likely will encompass the size of your hand. Now not all of it will look purple or blue - but it will be red or pinkish, and warm to the touch most likely. Also you will show some signs of edema throughout the discolored site.
Approximately 7-10days, soreness will subside, along with swelling, and discoloration.
Treatment includes heat and ice therapy. Ice of course to reduce immediate swelling and reaction, and heat later to help with increased blood flow to the site which may help with discomfort.
You will know if you have an infection - by signs of fever, chills, raised swelling (think golfball) etc...then you need to see a doctor promptly. Do not drain it yourself, and do not try and lance it. The doctor may or may not drain the infection, but he will definately put you on antibiotics. Bloodborne infections are nothing to play with.
Good luck, and just keep an eye on it for now. Good picture BTW.
TweetWell that's definately what I wanted to hear. It is not swollen so much that it sticks out, but definately discolored. I'll just give it some time and see what happens, and also the heat/ice therapy.
Thanks alot for the info! I'll let ya know what happens.
TweetTry to get someone who know how to inject you. This guy is going to hurt you. Try to do it yourself. Inject on upper left or right above ass cheek. Inject at 90 degree angle and inject 1.5 inch needle all the way in. Then inject slowly and pull out needle.
