Awesome choices for your solid protein intake. The problem with this diet is it gets old and becomes another job on the prep work. If you could do this 6-8 times a day the results will be tremendous. Damn I love my carbs! All you chicken and tuna dieters no what I mean.

It's hard bro, It's like working a second job preparing and eating all your meals. It's midnight and I'm cooking chicken in the oven. Solid food is the money for building mass, and you have to eat it til you close your eyes. I wish they would make more tasty high protein foods cooked out of the bag or flip off can. It's all the shit they put in it, and it doesn't even look edible. Chunk white tuna my ass! The shit looks brown and nasty.

eating just egg whites, chicken, and tuna does get waaaay boring and becomes a serious chore. plus, once you start eating that much tuna then the mercury becomes an issue.

besides, i think you want to eat some "good" fats like peanuts, almonds, and fish. not too much but some would be good. it should actually help you keep the fat off.

I use a couple of other high protein/low fat choices when cutting too - like 99% lean ground turkey burgers with some Mrs. Dash on them and eye round steak, which has only 1 more gram of fat per 4oz. serving than boneless chix breast.

BG -- you could do it and definitely lose weight and keep muscle while dieting...but I know from personal experience it is NOT very inspiring and you will have serious energy issues.

Carb depleting sucks! And I almost always gain it back -=- even on a clean diet. You lose ALOT of water on proteins only...your lifts will definitely suffer.

And you will be more inclined to cheat as the guys say.

Can be done-but its difficult and you can go brain dead. Gotta watch the ketone levels also. I've done that diet for 16 weeks straight with no cheating, while the results are great visually, you are some thing close to a vegetable mentally and strength is nil. BUT if its the visual that you want the loss of strength doesn't matter. Carb depletion is kind of a hobby with me-in a weird sort of way, I enjoy it..

If we could choose our time of training life would be grand. Wake up and hit the carbs for all it's worth, train mid morning and start hitting your proteins throughout the day. Recovery and fat lost by the end of the day is outstanding!

Unless you have a pre-existing condition, that much protein in would not be harmful.

But again, I suspect that it will be extreme eating and hard to stick to for the longer term.

Oh yeah! My kind of diet! Should be okay as long as you also keep up the water intake to keep uric acid buildup and ketones flushed out. Keep the ketone level in small to medium. Done it a hundred times!!!

Sounds like your going to start pounding the weights Beachgirl. At your age and the right training you will grow quite fast.

Beachgirl - my wife is doing a very high protein diet with next to no carbs right now. She dieted about 6 months ago and dropped about 15#'s, went from a size 10 to a size 8 doing the diet loosely. This time, she has really buckled down as she will be doing two upcoming figure shows in the area. She gave up all of her aerobic activity like BodyPump and Step and Cycle (she used to be an instructor), and switched to weight training with only fat-burning cardio. She has now dropped around 5#;s, but her pant size went from an 8 to a 4! Her lean body mass is also 12#'s higher than it was six months ago! So this is a long-winded answer - but YES you can do it. My wife does not look bulky at all either. This is her at 8 weeks out - 16% bf.
