Dawn of the Dead was the second of three movies. The first one was Night of the Living Dead (1968) the second one was Dawn of the Dead (1978) then came Day of the Dead (1985).
The Night of the Living Dead was remade in 1990 and now they’re remaking Dawn of the Dead, so I guess they will remake Day of the Dead around 2028.
BTW – The “Evil Dead” series (Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness) were great/funny horror movies. If you liked Dawn of the Dead you will probably like the Evil Dead movies.
