TweetLast May (2003) I started eating lots of red meat, chicken, tuna, and cut out most if not all complex carbs. I was never one to eat many fruits and vegetables so I did not include them in my diet either. I was getting my sugar from milk and my post workout shake. I wanted to lose some of my love handles and rip up my abs while still maintaining my muscle mass and possibly adding on to it. Well in December of 2003 I went to the doctor and had a physical. I must say that I was not feeling all that great at this time and did not look my best either. You see my face was breaking out like it did when I was a teenager and I had not had acne problems in about 7 years. Also, I had bad body odors problem for the first time in my life. Also, I could not sleep more than 5 hours a night. I was tossing and turning all night and normally I would sleep close to 9 hours a night. One other thing was that my sex drive was very low and sex did not seem enjoyable anymore. And my BP was sky high.
Granted my weight and muscle mass had increased very well (I went from 190 to 214 during this time and it was all natural with no love handles anymore) I was not feeling my best. So when I was at the doctor he did some blood tests and they came back horrible. My sugar level was sky high, my cholesterol was very high, my sodium was high, and some kidney related issues were present. He told me that my acne problems, my body odor problems, my low sexual drive, my poor sleeping, and my high BP were all a direct cause of my diet. He advised me to drastically change my diet and take in one serving of fruit, one serving of vegetable, whole grains, and water with every meal. He advised me that cooked protein found in meat and poultry can cross link and cause people acne. He said that natural sugar found in fruits and vegetables are very good for the body compared to the sugar added to products by humans.
I believed every word he told me. For the past two months I have changed my diet to include his suggestions and had some blood work done this past week. He told me the results were incredible and he commended me for changing my diet to a new healthy lifestyle. My acne has gone away, my body odor is gone, my BP is down, and all my blood work came back normal. And most importantly, my sex drive has been through the roof as of late and sex feels better than ever. And I am sleeping like a baby once again.
PS. I was natural for the past two years so I do not believe steroids were related to any of my problems.
So if you are not feeling your best internally and externally take a close look at your diet. I wouldn't want any of my bro's here to experience what I went through the past 10 months. Stay strong.
