      Close counts, doesnt it?

I am back in school at 30 as well. First thing I would do is check all your local schools for an adult evening degree program. I live in a large city and had the luxury of checking into more than three such programs. They were all different. I recieved some credit for owning my ouwn business and just for being a part of the working world. These helped out alot considering had I not recieved these credits I would have had to take such classes as "getting to know the campus" and " a freshman perspective".

You will find that usually the course load is slightly accelerated. And do not overload yourself on the first quater/semester. That was my recipie for disaster when I tried it at age 27.

Make sure the school is accredited and find out what the local employers think of it. I started at a local Community college then transfered to a smaller private school and now will finish at a large State college. I did not start off at the state college because they did not have a non-traditional degree peogram at the time. The business school is rated highly but at the time I could not attend classes throughout the day.

Also, most local community colleges have non-traditional transfer programs to better schools and the credit hours are usually signifigantly cheaper.

**warning, I did not spell check**

What are your areas of interest? What jobs do you think you could really enjoy? There are a lot of trade school classes that can give you a diploma in 1-2 years and find you a job to apprentice at before you graduate.

4plates -- I say go for it. My husband used to be an athlete and fitness professional but always wanted to finish his degree and try to get into veteninary school. Well last year at age 30 he went back. While we know he will need another year before vet school -- and quite of few years of that - I think it is great and courageous for him to do it.

We decided to live on one salary and make other sacrifices so he can follow his dream. And while it is rough at times, it makes me happy to see him do something he wants to try.

If you decide to go for it, take your time. Start out slow and the path will be laid out before you as to what to do and what courses to take.

I have been a Real Estate investor, appraiser and a contractor for ten years. I have a bachelor in business admin. I am 31 now, have sold off all my business except for my appraisal company and started back last semester. I am taking 17 hours right now and working on premed matriculation. I figure I got another 2 years and then several years in medical school.

      Good luck

I'm in my thirties and back in school. You'll be surprised that there a lot more of us non-traditional students. I am leaning in the direction of an allied health of some sort (not sure which) b/c its what I like. Also, hospitals are a target rich enviornment J/K I'll always keep it professional but you know what I mean. Good luck.
