Just finished converting my Fina
TweetDamn if I'd had known it was so easy I would have been doing this a long time ago. The only thing that screwed me up was the filtering part. My whatman filter had a little connector on it that I thought the pin attached to and when I gave the filter some of the oil it went all over the outside of te bottle. I was like "NOOOOOOOOOOOO"! I just took off the little conector and attached the pin directly to the filter. Very nice red color, totally clear. -

TweetLOL! This stuff is weird. I just went and grabbed the bottle out of my safe and its lighter than it was 4 hours ago! It still has a red tint but when you hold it up to the light, its a nice golden color. Is that normal. Sorry 1st time chemist. -crom

TweetYes golden is normal. The reddish tint is from oxidizing, and it is no big deal in terms of potency. Well made tran is a beautiful liquid gold color.
I personally never heat it, just heat the oil prior to mixing, then syringe filter with a .22 and have never had an issue after probably hundreds of pins.
