Pro BB'er: "Anavar is extremely liver toxic. Dont do it" True?

TweetFirstly, I'm a newbie here, so greetings to all!

Anyway, I was told by a "Pro" bb'er (not a US pro, but a guy that BB's for a living), when I told him about my upcoming Anavar/deca cycle, that its so harsh on the liver that I shouldn't do it.

Surely, its a 17-AA, and injectibles are not, but it cant be that bad on low doses, can it? I'm tapering up from 20 to 25mg/day. Using Hubei Anavar and thai Bonavar, and doing only 8 weeks in total. Plus 200mg organon Deca/week for the joints.

(This is not a bulker, I know, but I have to go really slow because of my job+++)

Surely 25mg/day of var can't be worse that 25mg/day d-ball?

Jack, I have to disagree with you here. Var is a 17aa and is therefore liver toxic - although not to the degree of others like d-bol. But to say that it is not liver toxic is incorrect - despite your anecdotal evidence to the contrary. While you are right that he will likely be fine (it isn't that toxic) there is at least the potential.

i agree with you that its a 1 aa but i have never in 7 years heard of it hurting anyones liver thats all i was trying to say but i guess if you you were sensitve to it there could be a problem but i would belive thats rare my freind

TweetI know for sure that some bros from different boards have had elevated liver values from "var only cycles", but it can't be determined if there was other compounds in the pills than 100% var. (I suspect a lot of d-ball,winny and maybe also drol).

Anyway, my liver has had a tough time because of mononucleosis (sp.) a few years ago, I didn't know I had it until later, so I trained hard and also got drunk (stupid) on a few occations, the liver values took a looong time to go down...

Var is liver toxic for sure, but I was a bit stunned about being varned not to take it at all, by a guy who has taken quite a bit of d-ball in his life.

Anyway, If nobody has any more evidence of 25mg var being worse than 25mg d-ball then I'll be a bit more comfy on my cycle.

TweetAnavar isnt that much better on the liver than other orals, but is usually run at a pretty low dose. Orals in general arent as bad as people make them out to be unless you have a pre-existing condition. You should be good to go bro.

Tweetanavar is a17 alk oral ,but no wheere near toxic as halo or anadrol ,they give it to aids patients and aslo to people with liver problems beleive it or not ,ive gotten blood work done after dbol and once right after oxandrolone ,and values after var at 50 mg daily were a world of difference compareedd to the dbol

TweetJust get some ala and milk thistle and you should be alright. If you are worried then don't mess with it. I don't think the guy you talked to is the most knowledgable in the world. Just because he is a pro bodybuilder does not make him educated. You are talking about some low doses....25mg ed, I would take 40-50mg ed and not worry about it. Get your bloodwork done and you will know for sure if it is too much. Var is not gonna be as bad as drol or dbol imo.
