TweetAre you consuming too much creatine a day? Anything over 5g-10g is too much IMHO....maybe give it a break for a month or so and try it then. It could also be the flavouring and sugar depending on what type of creatine you use.

Tweetdoes anyone else get ungodly cramps while using creatine??? i drink PLENTY of water each day and still get bad cramps and it varies where i get them...sometimes abs, sometimes triceps, chest, hams, etc...is there anything you can take to minimize/eliminate the cramps...i like using creatine off-cycle because it does give me a slight but noticeable strength increase

TweetI've just been taking 5 grams per day...i've always just used it and dealt with the cramps...i know for sure it's the creatine because while on cycle i dropped the creatine and voila---no cramps...i usually just buy it in bulk and mix it with grape juice or some fruit punch...i use nature's bestOriginally posted by Aragorn

Tweetis this the only brand you've used? if so, maybe try another.
or maybe try it with pure dextrose?
Do you know where one builds action, stamina and guts? In the gym under the iron day after day, forever without fail or excuses or grumbling, that’s where. It’s true. I read a study somewhere and that’s what it said, really.
There’d be fewer battles, less drugs and less crime and more happy moms and dads if we all lifted weights… let’s face it. In what recent medical journal was I reading that?

TweetI would up still my water intake.I have always heard potassium is also good for cramps.
"There is no such thing as big pussies just little dicks. If it is loose just keep packing dick to it."
TweetRight, potassium is great for muscle cramps but if the cramps originate in the stomach then it probably is something other then his muscles. Could be acid or anything...change brands or try laying of it for a month or so, then try it out again. See if that works.Originally posted by Speedracer59

TweetTry the Vitargo CGL from Nutrex (I'm Canadian and buy mine from Renegade Nutrition - www.renegadenutrition.com). It's made with a diffferent kind of high molecular weight carbohydrate called Vitargo (from Sweden). No cramping, no bloating. Works great!
TweetI definitely believe that you get what you pay for. Try a higher end brand. When I first started using creatine, I bought the least expensive kind that I could find and I frequently got the shits and no results. When I switched to a higher end brand, the shits went away and the pumps were great.
TweetCreatine monohydrate is creatine monohydrate...but like you, I've gotten cramps as well, but ONLY after I switched brands...
Must be a filler thing or something...
Regardless, I get cramps on Dymatize's Creatine, while I don't get any on GNC's Pro Performance...
Tweetyeah I got cramps real bad during the football season my whole body was stiff from creatine and i had to go to the hospital for dehydration I weighed about 275lbs is there anything I can do to stop the cramps I know K potassium but what do you do when it doesn't help
TweetI don't know if this is related, however; whenever I start a creatine cycle I will get a cold sore a week or ten days into it. This is because of the high amount of Arginine in the Creatine. So to combat this I take 1000mg of L-Lysine ED.
Tweetthanx for the responses...nature's best is what im using now, used to use prolab...maybe i'll try upping potassium intake and see if that helps and i'll try to still up my H2O intake
Tweetwassup man,i'm kinda new to this site..anyway creatine was a bit shity 4 me,it made have to go (alot).but wen i finished the cycle it i saw abit of improvment!!
Tweeti done a previous cycle creatine, but was unsuccesful.i think it was becoz of the brand i was using can anyone suggest a brand that worked well for them
TweetYeah i got my creatine from Mr. Spot Me. It was hella expensive, came in little pink pills but it really worked well.
