TweetI don't take them. I think whey is all you need imo.

Tweeti take them before a workout i really cant tell a difference though i just bought a bunch in bulk and have to use it all before it goes bad if it does. it may help keep you anticatabolic while working out longer than normal
TweetThey are a waste of money bro. There is too much detail to go into in a reply but do some research on them and you'll see what I mean. And, read books, not internet stuff, independent studies, or God forbid, magazine ads.
TweetI bought some amino caplets one time and I regret it. The very same compounds exist in any weight gainer or protein powder.
Not sure about the bio availablilty of the capsules vs. the protein powders...
These days, I'd rather eat a burger than take a supplement.
You have to figure out what works for you. Then figure out how to do it efficiently.
I know nothing about any of this insanity... it's just a fun game to me.
TweetWhat about after a shot of slin wouldnt your body use the aminos first since it takes time to break down the whey into amino acids? Also I'm talking about using liquid aminos.
TweetI buy a very reasonable priced amino acid complex. I sincerely don't know if it has made a difference. I have heard in layman terms that it is supposed to help in protein synthisis to the cell receptors in the muscle. But like the person said above, look at the back of many protein powders labels. Many contain branched chain aminos. I get mine at proteinfactory.com they give you profiles on all their powders. I think if you can find a cheap branch chain amino complex it wouldn't hurt.
TweetIf whey proteim didn't exist, they might be worth it. However, whey protein is so rich in BCAA's, so cheap, and digested so quickly that it won't make a difference. Maybe the difference between a spike in amino acids in the blood in 14 minutes vs. a spike in 15 minutes. Big deal.
TweetI use BCAA before my cardio sessions. When I run out I am going to switch to just eating a couple of turkey deli slices. The results should be the same, but much less costly.
TweetYou should go with a scoop of whey isolate in water, or just eat the powder instead. The digestion and absorption rate between whey protein isolate and turkey slices is pretty big.
TweetMaybe not as big as you think. Unfortunately I do not have any stats to back me up. But remember deli meats are processed. And like most processed foods they are metabolized very quickly. Turkey also has 19 different amino acids, and I believe it contains all of the essential ones.
Yes there is no protein that compares one-to-one with whey. But there are alternatives. In my reply I was specifically addressing the way in which I used AA. I stated that before cardio sessions I used AA or BCAA. The reason I take them is to ensure that I am in a positive nitrogen balance during the exercise session. I feel that for this purpose deli slices are suitable. I personally get a little sick when I have a whey & water shake swishing around in my stomach.
