Depression...

Any of you suffer from it? I've got a blue feeling that I just can't seem to shake. It seems like everytime I see the light at the end of the tunnel financially I get slammed with so many expenses that I just don't know how I'm gonna work through it!

Hell, maybe just coming back to work has me down. I really hate this feeling! My diet has gone to shit, I haven eaten a good meal in about a day and a half!

Not sure if anybody cares to hear me whine, but I guess I just know I can vent here...

damn bro sorry to hear that , depression sucks i got very depressed whne my lovley grandmother passed away last christmas , i still am i got on lexpro at 10 mg ed from my doc it helps alot , you just got to find something positive in your life and focus on it everyday , i just start my day with a short prayer and it helps a ton best wishes to you bro , you will pull threw it.

thanks bros, I'm on 40mg/day of Celexa now. I tried Lexapro in the past, but I either got severe anxiety from it, or my anxiety got worse, and the meds didn't work for me. I've been happy with Celexa for the most part, since I've been on it I've never gotten deeply depressed like I did prior to taking it. I hate being dependant on anything, so I've planned to taper off, but hell it works most of the time, so it probably wouldn't be a good idea! I'm probably just being a baby, but thanks for the kind words fellas, it's nice to know I can spill my guts here!

Yea be sure to keep in touch with the doc on this one leankid, depression is serious and usually a person needs to talk to someone about it.

lxorl- You're probably right. Just hard to tell the difference I guess. I've definitely been worse, but I must admit I've had weird thoughts lately. I would never follow thru on anything harmful to myself, at least not consciously anyway. I guess if you don't have shitty times, you don't appreciate the good ones..

My dad suffers from manic depression( bi-polar). It makes you do crazy things. deppression is noting to be sneezed at make sure you stay in close contact with your doctor and keep your medication right.

Good for you to be talking about this stuff, it helps very very much.

There's lot's of different meds, and like AS, we all respond differently. You're doc should be willing to try different ones.

Also, some people need this some don't, talking to a counselor, a good one can make a world of difference.

Using Jack as an example, ( only know from boards, hoping it's okay to us him as example )

Jacks slight bout was situational, brought on by his grandma's passing. Now,we all see Jack's posts all the time and he is very positive person, the slight episode knocked him back a bit, the meds helped, and we know he has a sweet girl by his side, and just guessing here, yet, she probably held his hand through the episode which is extremely helpful.

So whether it's situaional or chronic you want someone by your side to help you through ups and downs until they level out.

Counselor's are just good teachers and can teach you a thing or two about life that could be a source of that up and down stuff.

It is always worth a try and nothing wrong with it, in essence you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Wow, I didn't even think this post would get a reply! Thanks for the willingness to help everyone. If I don't feel any better within the next day or so, I'm gonna go to the doc. As I said, I'd like to think I'd tell somebody if I were going to do something stupid, but I've never been in that situation. I have been very unmotivated lately, I guess it could've been the onset of all this. I'm a big boy, I'll get through this shit some kinda way!

Now that I think of it, I got pretty bothered when I hurt the ol' rotator cuffs, and I've only worked legs for the past few weeks. Today I was going to start easing back into some arm workouts, and maybe some light shoulder exercises to see how it feels. Maybe that'll perk me up some.
