      I don't know how it is everywhere but I can tell you about mine. I can't just walk into any Gold's and use it. If I am leaving town or something I can ask for a travel pass before I leave that gets me into a gym somewhere else. I think there is a limit of these per year, not sure. But its no big deal to transfer your member ship to another gym. I've done that 3 times in the past two years.
